For all the football fanatics out there...This guy is a year-round fixture in the front yard of a Roseville home. I took this photo a year or so ago....Wonder if he now has a number four painted in gold on his back? Maybe not yet but if plays keep coming in the final seconds of the game, it could be added to the back of the shirt rather easily!

Teri cool picture, although I have to admit that sword is a bit scary.....Lol

Teri: Ahhh yes... the home of Viking Country ! Go Vikes ! I sure would hate to mess with THAT guy ! I also must admit that his horned hat looks much scarier than some guy with a piece of cheese on his head... LOL.

And the Purple People Eaters defense of years gone by gives way to Brett Favre playing like he's General Sherman marching to the sea, except in his case he's marching through the opposing defenses in the Fourth Quarter.

I am looking forward to watching all those Viking Vans come this Monday night football.

John--Hope your college team has better colors than purple and gold!

Jennifer--I totally agree...It is quite a sword!

Karen Anne--I have driven through WI several times and have never seen a yard with a cheese head wooden figure...but then maybe I was just in the wrong neighborhood. LOL But this guy would definitely be scarier than any cheese head!

Jim--More spirit than I would expect from any fan of any team!

Carole--Agreed...clever and talented to carve something like this out of a tree!

Joan--Proud as it certainly attracts commands attention!

Ann--You and me both...that sword is something else!

Cynthia--Not too many people would go so far as to have a VIKING in their front yard no matter how loyal!

Debi--I wouldn't want this particular carving in my yard either...but I do think they are pretty cool!

Marney--Interesting is a VERY good choice of words under these circumstances! :)

Lynda--I cannot even begin to imagine...lol!

Terry and Bonnie--I'm kind of wondering if the Viking has a new number painted on his back after that last minute play.

Russel--I wonder if they will bring back the old "purple people eaters" slogan of the 70's...with this guy as a mascot, there is no telling.

Rebecca--Soooo you are not cheering on the Vikings and supporting Farve in the match up on Monday? LOL...There are lots of Packer-backers in MN too. Just haven't found a front yard tribute to share as of yet.

Steve--Just needs a fur coat and he would fit right in...And everyone will need a fur coat in a few months in MN!

Crystal--It certainly makes a huge statement...football is taken very seriously in this house!

Karen--Many of these wooden carvings are pretty well grounded...literally...as they have been carved in place where a tree died. I think that is the case for this particular fellow!

Tom--I am actually not much of a football fan but think lots of tvs will be tuned in to the big match up on Monday night!
