Like many looking for effective marketing tools to bolster their practice on line, I tried the usual suspects: Google, CPC, realtor sites all with limited success. I wanted to be known as the local source for real estate in my town of Royal Oak and looked to get exposure on our cities premier web sites. 

Royal Oak, MI is a mecca for the recent college graduate, trendy loft buyer and young people in metro Detroit. Surely there would be a place to market my real estate knowledge of the area. The truth was after searching I found nothing that resembled a city guide for our progressive and web savvy residents. Instead of giving up I decided to create my own guide. Though it has evolved slowly, the site attracts people looking for cars, bars, real estate and everything else in Royal Oak.

It has been about 3 years since I developed www.inRoyalOak.com and have enjoyed terrific organic rankings but have also used it as a networking tool to develop relationships with area business owners which helped my commercial practice. The site not only serves as a billboard for my company but also is a valuable tool for local patrons, citizens and business owners. When Royal Oak Michigan or other combinations is googled my site often appears before our local chamber of commerce or city government. While I do little to no residential it brings 4-5 daily leads to my agents and has made me a bit of an online celebrity in my town.

I am talking to a marketing company to re brand the site and get paid sponsors to advertise along side my real estate marketing. Remember the one who screams the loudest in our business wins.
