12 Comments on Twitter for Teams! Great Web 2.0 contact tool for Active Teams!
not sure what you mean by "more automated"???
As it is you can update twitter through your cell phone by txt message and it automatically updates to others in your group to their cell phone or IM. This seems fairly automatic to me, but I may be missing something. Let me know how it could be automatic or being more useful to you...

(please note: I am really interested in how this could work better for you and not being snarky! Just thought I would make that clear)
Hi Scott- I just found your blog. Good stuff.
It's nice to see Twitter getting some love around here. Us Bay Area geeks have been hooked on it for a few months now and it's starting to look like it's here to stay.
That's an interesting idea you have to use it as a communication tool within teams. Never thought of using it that way.
To tell you the truth, pretty much every twitterer that I know has SMS turned off. It gets out of control pretty quickly once you start following more people.
BTW, I'm andykaufman on twitter and I'm always looking to connect with others.
Andy - you can individually set the sms notifications for each of your friends. I too turn it off for some of my friends who go a little overboard. I use for the ones that I don't mind hearing from. I only use twitter with my close friends and not work so I am not a big one for giving it out (no offense!) but I will stop by your page and say hi!
Linda - it's not exactly the same as IM on a mobile device. think of it more of a mini-blog that can be distributed to cell phones through sms. So it isn't for "talking" so to speak, more over it is for notifying your group of what's up. It sounds a little strange but can be extremely useful and even more addictive since it is so easy to use.
yes, I have been using twitter, with no success. I will park, and listen to what others have to say. thanks for sharing.
