Winter is upon us in Maui!

As September comes to a close and another Maui summer fades into the sunset. This is our slow season in fall, which is my favorite time of year.  Upcountry we have shower trees displaying an amazing array of colors, and you can feel the temperatures slightly changing.

The beaches are a lot quieter, and the winter season of surf on the north shore is already happening.  Many travelers know this is a great time to visit Maui. The northern regions are already snowing, like Colorado has had some early snow.  This is the beginning sign to people in the mainland its time to be thinking about Maui.

Already in Haiku we are noticing winter rains starting to pick up.  For me this is a bonus because this makes my garden really happy.  With the gentle rain comes bountiful crops of Papayas and fresh veggies from my garden.

What we are seeing this year is buyers taking advantage of great Maui real estate prices.  Maui was slow into catching up with the mainland market in price corrections.  Now we are seeing prices adjusting to the reality of the market.  This is a great time of year to be on Maui.  Travel deals with the airlines and hotels are an exceptionally good.

So for me I am going to enjoy fall on Maui.  The weather is perfect, the surf is going off. There are some great Maui real estate values, and the real estate market is picking up.

So if Maui might be your next destination to call home.  Give me a call, with over 36 years on Maui, and 15 years a Maui Realtor serving all Maui.  I would love to help you realize your dream on Maui.

Steve - you are so in trouble with me!  I absolutely love your pics and wish I was there instead of Phoenix.  Can you believe it was 108 today - that is nuts for this time of year.  The good news is we'll be back to normal by Wed.  Hawaii is looking real good to me right now:)

Anna,

Be nice, someone has to live here okay.

Aloha Cary,

Upcountry gets real cold.  We get snow on Haleakala Crater in the winter.

Aloha Tom,

I love winter, good surf, little cooler and did I mention good surf.

Marcey,

I get the feeling you are a local girl, am I right.

Aloha Tony and Darcy,

A lot of people prefer winter, cause its really cold in the northern regions.

What up Terry,

How you stay in Texas!

Steven - this is a great post about Maui, and the photos are absolutely fantastic. Is the surfer you or one of your sons? Great post!
