Some environmental activists say you should.  That’s because they say plush toilet paper is usually made from old growth trees that are cut and ground into those cushy-tushy wipes.  This was news to me.  I had assumed most tissue products were made largely from post industrial waste.

That’s why I thought I’d share this info.  The most important part of environmental consciousness is being aware of how our choices impact the Earth.

Toilet paper makers say they’re just supplying what consumers want.

Would you give up a little cushiony softness to save a few trees?  Think about that the next time you buy a triple-ply toilet paper.

deciding on what toilet paper to use seems to me to be a much easier topic for consideration vs when to flush! Is society really ready to contemplate whether or not to flush??? I couldn't believe what I was hearing the other day! Here's my rule: if I'm either: a) cleaning the toilet, or b) possibly going to be the one using the toilet AFTER you, then PLEEEEESE flush the darn toilet!

SHERIDAN:Interesting post. Personally I usually purchase SCOTT 2ply. It seems to last longer and I have had no complaints from the family saying it is not soft enough. However when It comes to tissues for my nose I want it to be soft and not scratchy.

I thought it was quite an interesting topic, myself.  I've always thought those new Charmin commercials are pretty funny.  Who'd have thought that there's an "evil" side to it?

I think you are very brave for bringing this topic up for the group. I would say it could be a sore point.

Oh you would have to bring this up.  First time I heard of it.  Well it's something to think about.  I wonder where the Costco brand gets their wood?
