Which do you prefer Blackberry, IPhone or Palm Treo

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty Chesterfield

With all of the technology that is out there today for use in our profession.  There is the Blackberry [all models], the IPhone and of course the Palm Treo [the one that I currently have].

I am currently looking to change and need some help from you the users of these pieces of technology.  I know that there is speed, resolution and a miriad of other things to take into consideration when changing.

I am sure that there are some out there that would be willing to help and not confuse me any more than I am already.  So please vote and possibly leave a comment after voting.

Ryan,

I am having the "lock-up" problem with my Palm Treo and have had since I bought it.  I am thinking the Blackberry Curve but I am leaning very hard toward the Blackberry.  It is always good to ask the current users of these different devices tho.

Thanks for your help and I look forward to seeing you in a couple of days at the lake.  Call me when you get in.

John,

The interface with the MLS & being able to only carry one piece of equipment is the reason I went with the Treo.  I am thinking that it is time to move on with the technology that is available.  I too wish that Blackberry had IR capability and for the IPhone I haven't seen anything that would lead me to believe that it will interface with a fob.

Thank you sir for stopping by.

Richard O.,

I too use the Treo for the same reasons and have been using it for a long time.  I see more and more folks changing to the Blackberry and IPhone and see the advantages/disadvantages of both compared to the Treo.

Thank you sir for stopping in.

Richard I.,

Thank you sir for stopping in. It is always good to hear a different point of view and I am glad that you took part in my survey.  It is always hard when one is thinking about changing from one piece of equipment to another.

RW,

I keep looking at those little bitty buttons too but they just don't make a full size keyboard for these phones.  Darn the luck.

Thank you my friend for stopping in.

William,

I too use the Palm and enjoy it even through the ups and downs of lockups and the like.  I will miss it but I am thinking it is time to move on with something, hopefully, better and faster.

Don - Glad you posted this survey. I am contemplating the same thing. I tried the Blackberry for 3 wks and it drove me crazy. I missed a few calls (they got lost in my voice mail), and it seemed like I had to press far too many keys to make a phone call. I know, there is voice dial, but that always seemed to give me the wrong person. I went back to my old Treo, but I do need to get something new.

Have you decided yet?

Don, We're pretty adaptive by nature if not be attitude, LOL.  I went to iphone and I'm not looking back, but BB has really courted the RE agent market and has developed a strong following with their apps.

I don't have any of them, but I have been considering moving to one myself. I will have to check out the comments and see what advice I can get as well.

Judy,

I have listened to those that have come before you and to those in my office and elsewhere and I have gone with a Blackberry Curve 8310.  Now all I have to do is get comfortable with it.

Steve,

To listen to the sales folks at your local phone store they are in love with the IPhone.  I am thinking that it is a matter of personal preference.  Thanks for your input.

Very interesting, my plan has unlimited calls and this messes me up when it comes to trying to texting etc. So I'm interested in this topic as well.

Don - The Blackberry I tried was the curve. Perhaps the 8310 will be better. I hope you will come back and let us know how you are adapting to the new device. I will check back to see, just so you know! Okay?

Don - If you buy the blackberry and need the Supra key fob, we have a couple unprogrammed in the office.  We had already bought the Supra key fobs and then got a rebate for 2 free ones from GE when we updated our phones.

Don - I forgot to mention.  The Storm allows me to show property videos, listing presentations, etc anywhere.  I can also search the MLS either directly or though the Supra download.  The Supra download (which is in addition to the key fob) includes the agent directory, showings requests and confirmations, MLS property info, market data, etc.  Only downside is no photos.  Someone mentioned texting and other items for kids above.  I don't regularly text (except text notification of showing requests and confirmations).  However, my clients do so I like the text features.  I also like the logging feature as I can track calls, add notes, and keep a record of conversations with clients as well as with the other agents.

Hello, everyone. I have used a Blackberry 8310 for quite awhile and love it. However, I am leaving the company and my Blackberry. One does get attached to the Blackberry Curve after awhile. I am bidding on a Treo 750 at Ebay. Seems to meet my needs and has the infrared port.

Blackberry/Supra now has the FOB which will convert Blackberry to a GE Supra.

Anyone using a blackberry with a key fob?  I'd like your oppinions, likes and dislikes, before I purchase my new phone.  Thanks!

Becky,

I went to a Blackberry and the fob and it is not as bad as one would think.  I had a concern at first and that was the reason for the post.  I really enjoy my blackberry and would recommend it to anybody.
