Many have been waiting patiently for the final results from the recent Listing Contest.  As I mentioned in the post announcing the top 10 finalists, there was a lot of wonderful entries, 52 to be exact!   The 10 finalists were then upon in a poll by you, our members to determine the overall winner.

Our Members here on ActiveRain came through strong with 210 votes for their favorite listing during the voting time.  That being said, here are the final results:

Listing Contest Results

Congratulations to our winner!  Dick & Dixie Sells with their listing on Winding Wilow Drive.  They are the winners of 10,000 bonus points!  Also, a big congratulations to Maureen Megowan and Cindy Jones who won second and third place respectively.  Also, each of our 10 finalists will receive 1,500 points for making it to the final round.

While bonus points were a great reward for entering the contest, the bigger reward learning how to write your listing posts effectively and implementing those strategies into your post.  If you missed our contest or the original post, make sure to read on how to post your listings effectively and start integrating some of the tips.  By doing this, you will be able to increase your Internet exposure on your listings while also making them more appealing to consumers.

Congratulations to all who entered and especially to our consumers.  For all those whose entered, I wish that now the ultimate prize comes your way from your listing post, A SOLD SIGN!

It's simply amazing how many contests I don't hear about. Miss Oblivious totally missed out on this one. I'll spend a bit of time on the backlinks tonight. Bet I learn a thing or two.

The winner was on fabulous blog post. The contest was worthwhile.  Some great examples were highlighted.

You ought to hold this contest every 3-6 months. But winners should be ineligible for future rounds.

Thank you so much everybody! And a special thanks to Jeremy for holding this contest. We did learn so much by creating our entry and are learning more every day. We also found some great ideas from the other entries that we want to start using. And the best part, I have found that I have gotten several serious consumer inquires directly because of this post.

Just a few of the tips we learned are:

  • Use keywords to get more Google Juice- repeating your title
  • We did link to our other posts on the community itself and to area businesses
  • Adding hyper local content - having it already posted helped and I could link back.
  • Adding photos and the borders, oh and how to name the photos for more Google Juice

Now I have to start making all our listings in the same vein. Thanks again ActiveRainers!
We appreciate it.
Dick and Dixie

Don't I get any bonus points for going to ATL to see the great Chris Brogan and illustrious Jeff Turner at #NMATL?? ;-) You might enjoy watching Chris Brogan's presentation at NMATL (in your spare time). Chris Brogan at NMATL.

Thanks Jeremy.  I took a different approach to this contest than my ususal combination of listing information.  It was fun to step outside the box and doing something a bit more creative and I look forward to more opportunities to do the same.

Hi, Jeremy. I am fairly new to Active Rain  and I'm really learning alot. I would like to study these winners to see what they did. Congratulations to Dick and Dixie....their entry is terrific!

I agree with Vickie; I'd like to see contests published in a specific location so everyone gets the info at the outset.

Jeremy - Thanks for setting up the contest !  It was beneficial for everyone I think !  Even though listing posts are "boring" per se, I think they are huge and critical in terms of promoting ones listings and properties.  And the buyers are searching for properties ! It gives those properties more exposure.

It is really nice that you posted the winners. I had forgotten about this contest but it gave some great tips to get the word out about listings. I will have to go back and read the original blog rules and guidelines.

Hi Jeremy -- geeze I guess I shouldn't stay up so late and be making comments!!  I'm not sure how I managed to do it but the below comment meant for here ended up on your blog re blogging webinar.  My apologies and I deleted it -- I think!

Hearty congrats to all the winners and the 52 participant entries (we were one.)  They all had good features and were great for offering different ideas when putting together listing presentations.

Do all entries receive 500 points for entering?  I think I recall reading that in the Contest Rules.

It was a great contest and I agree it would be good to do it again in a few months for even more great ideas for presenting a property for online marketing.

Dick and Dixie: It was a great presentation and a beautiful property.  It would be great to hear that it sold!

Thanks,
Sue of Robin and Sue
