Summertime Fun for Kids in Tuscaloosa, Alabama

The Tuscaloosa Parks and Recreation Authority (PARA) is offering a wide variety of fun activities for kids in the Tuscaloosa area this summer.  Para offers day camps that include field trips, movie days, swimming, and art activities for kids.

PARA day camp is available for kids from kindergarten to eighth grade.  The cost is only $25 per day or $75 for the week.  What a great alternative to trying to find babysitters.

Other organizations that are offering fun for the kids are:

1. The Community Music School which is offering Kindermusik, private instrument lessons, and summer art camp.  This program runs through July 2007, and the cost of the programs varies. Call (205) 348-6471 or email jweigel@music.ua.edu

2. FIG Cooking School - a culinary cooking school for kids ages 5 - 14.  This program runs from 2:30 - 5:30 p.m. Monday - Friday, through August 3, 2007.  Cost is $235 per session. Call (205) 345-8888 for details.
