Google Sets The Record Straight! Watch This!

I've recieved a lot of flack for teaching that Google does not care about Keyword Meta tags. (You should see some of the emails I've been sent! Whew! Some people take their Google knowledge seriously!)

Well, it seems that Google has gone on record to set the matter straight! Have a look at what is said:

Pretty darn interesting isn't it? This really illustrates how many pretend experts are out there teaching what they "think" is fact. Of course, this does not mean you should leave this area of your website blank, as other search engines may still assign value to this field.

But Google is the primary target here. Also, do not take this as a cue to keyword stuff this area either, as you may still get "slapped" for this spammy approach to SEO. Focus is the key, not volume keywords.Hope you enjoyed the video. It's always nice to get direct answers from the source isn't it?

Based on that video, I can't understand why one of the people who appears ahead of me in a Google search writes a blog that is nothing but her name, a property address and different key words over and over.  (Fortunately she doesn't post them on AR!)

hello Kate,

The person who posts the same keywords over and over is utilizing what is known as a "black hat" technique, and is taking extraordinary risk. See, Google likes to "slap" those sites who use unethical techniques that violate their terms of service, and "keyword stuffing" as you've described, will almost certainly result in her site being thrown down the rankings.

Google doesn't catch every single site doing this, but they do catch most. It's just a matter of time.
