Dublin's Bridge Street Corridor
According to an article written by Holly Zachariah in this mornings Columbus Dispatch there is a study about the future of the "core" of Dublin.
The Columbus Dispatch article is titled Dublin putting hope for future in latest study
In the article Terry Foegler, Dublin City Manager is hopeful the study will result in changes to downtown Dublin. The area under consideration is being referred to as "the Bridge Street corridor."

Dublin Bridge Street Corridor - the past
Is everyone in agreement that what "downtown" Dublin needs is lofts, condos, urban living? The Columbus Dispatch article quotes Steve Rudy, the president of the Historic Dublin Association "But I'll go down fighting on the hill that you don't have to sacrifice the neighborhood to get a vibrant, urban core," he said. "If someone wants 'bright lights, big city' in Dublin, great, but let's not tromp on the history of the area to do it."
Dublin's Bridge Street Corridor - the future
Eric Leslie, who represents the "Historic Dublin Business Association" quoted in the Columbus Dispatch Article sounds like he's more in favor of some changes in the future for the area.
Parking has always been an issue for the historic business area. People on foot and on bike would certainly be welcome to those businesses.
Dublin's Bridge Street Corridor -where
The Columbus Dispatch has a map of the area, it is more than High St in Dublin (the street that runs along the Scioto River and Bridge Street (161), more than just the historic area. The City of Dublin area being studied is is both sides of the Scioto River.... as far east as Sawmill Road, as far west as 270... it takes in the northern semi circle inside 270. It takes in that whole Dublin Village area east of the Scioto where the movie theater is.
That's a lot of ground. The Columbus Dispatch map shows a relatively large area, much larger than just the historic residential and business areas on Bridge Street (161) and High Street.
Bridge Street (161) is not a pedestrian friendly street. It will be interesting to see how that is dealt with.
Here's a poll about the future of the Dublin "Bridge Street Corridor" How do you feel about changes in Dublin? Check all that apply or use "other"!
