My wife and I recently succumbed to the pressure from the 5 kids and the rest of society to purchase our first Hi Def TV...

While shopping for box springs for the two girls new mattresses, the outlet store gave us a deal we couldn't refuse on a brand new Sony Bravia big screen TV...a 52 incher...!!!

All I needed extra was the bracket to mount the unit onto the wall...!!!

This is where the theme for this title was born. The actual TV purchase paled in amazement to the product we purchased to mount the beauty on our family room wall...!!!

We shopped around and received 4 prices for the wall mount ranging between $79 dollars to $180 dollars...

Of course we opted for the least expensive one on the say so of the store clerk who 'has been selling this product successfully for years'...!!!

With our fingers crossed that we weren't buying a cheap substandard knock off version of a big screen TV wall mount to hold our weighty most recently purchased prized possession, we were pleasantly surprised...!!!

This product, made by Peerless Industries, was so wonderfully packaged and organized, that assembly and installation went amazingly quick and efficiently...

Not only were the instructions very clear and concise, and all the hardware neatly labelled and nested in individual plastic nests, but all the tools required for assembly were included in the box...a level, drill bit, tape measure, allen wrench, stud finder with batteries...and even a pencil (unsharpened) was included...!!!

I would highly recommend this company, its products, and the work ethic of its employees to anyone needing similar equipment...!!!

'Peerless' certainly stands for what the word means...without equal, a cut above...!!!

Fran...we just built a new home.  We used the exact same peerless system.  Pretty slick, huh?

Fran, that is good to know.  The last thing you need is for your investment to end up on the floor in a million pieces.  Enjoy your HD.

Fran, those darn wall mounts are so high. That sounds like a good deal.

I got so tired of looking around I just put ours on the built in bookcases in the great room.

My husband wanted it over the mantle.

Well we never really had a TV in the greatroom before, because I think it is a distraction so it was a compromise.

I love it when things are labeled and easy to read and then when it is the least expensive, it is an even bigger bonus! Congratulations on the big screen and HDTV, if it makes you feel better, I haven't made the jump yet either.

I just installed a Sony Mount for a friend, it mounted more like a picture than a bracket.  It was amazing!  Coming from the construction background, I had all the tools to do it, but it is pretty darn cool that it comes with everything.

So if I may ask, how did you manage all the cords?

Fran, here's what I do.  I usually cut a hole in the wall behing the TV and down by the power cord.  The holes is the size that fits an "old work" low voltage electrical box.  Then I fish the wires through the wall from behind the tv down to the cabinet level hole after putting an old work electrical box frame in (if you can't find one premade, just cut the back off of a regular old work box).  Then you get a "picture" look for the TV and can't see the cords.  When you move the TV, you just put find a blank cover over the box.

Daniel,

Excellent idea! Since it is evident that you and I are both perfectionists, I just may do that!!! Again, Thanks,   Fran
