Have you noticed? Toothbrush holders are out. In fact, in new construction you won't even find them being built into the wall above the sink. Say goodbye to one more thing of the past.
Houses up until the 1990's always had built-in toothbrush holders. One side held the cup and holes for the toothbrush and the other side held the holder for the bar of soap. Things have changed as many people use liquid soap. Plus, those soap holders were a pain to clean. Not sure what the public health department thought of them anyway. The stand to hold the cup was a health hazard also. We all know a family cannot drink from the same cup. When I was growing up it was even a glass cup in the stand. How did we ever not bleed to death? With electronic tooth brushes the stand became obsolete. I find I even try to use the holder for our toothbrushes, but none of the handles will fit in those holes.
I ask how did our large families survive when the soap and toothbrush holders were so evil? I sleep better now knowing that people are no longer spreading germs to one another. I am racking my brain to figure out how to decorate those creatures now that they no longer have a place in our world. Oh one thought, have you noticed how kids get sick so often now when they are young. Their world is so clean that they have trouble slowly building up there immune system. Blame it on the vanishing act of the soap and toothbrush holders.
