My friend Denise lost her beloved beagle, Buddy this year.  As luck would have it, her loving cat Pepper passed away a few days before Denise and Chip, her husband, were taking their only child Matt to college!  Talk about an empty nest.  I wrote about how good things happen to good people, and that Denise, a very good person, had adopted a lovely little kitty named Bandit.  Denise strongly felt that Bandit needed a playmate, and while taking Bandit for an emergency veterinary appointment, she found out that they had a kitten who would shortly be ready for adoption.

Well, Smokey is now living with Denise and Chip, and these two kittens are providing hours of endless entertainment, rolling around wrestling with each other!  These two are just what the doctor would have ordered for my friends, who, like all good moms and dads are missing their son as he goes off into the world.

Friends, I give you......... (drum roll)......... Smokey and the Bandit!

Such a cute little name for a perfect little thing. You are indeed precious to think of your clients this way. They are lucky to have you in their lives.

Hi Loreena!  They started out as clients 18 years ago, but are now close family friends.  We are both lucky to have each other!

Awwwwwww, I miss my cats being playful like that.  Now they are just three crouchity old cats.  One of them will play a little bit, but the others might rub by your leg if you have treats.

Tammy, they are adorable, aren't they??  My cat doesn't play much either, unless you count the way she tortures the neighborhood rodents!

Gary, I love the names too!  They are too cute for words, and they are double trouble!  Denise came home and there was kitty litter and dry kibble from one end of the room to the other!!

Susan - So cute as you know I love all kitties.  I am glad she was able to adopt so soon after the passing of her other fur children.

Mine was slightly bigger than Smokey and the Bandit, when she ran between my legs, into my house, one cold Winter Day (March 13, 1990, to be exact), when I was just getting home from work.  By the time I found her, she was giving birth to her 6th kitten, in my closet, in the basement.

I don't know where she came from, or who she longed to, but she adopted me/my home  -  a safe place where she could have her babies and know they would be well cared for (and they all were ... for years ... and years....).  She out-lived all her kids, and finally passed away last year, at (almost??) 20 years old.  She was so loved, and she is soooo missed.

Russell, they are both a handful!  I love kittens... into everything!

Sharon, if she didn't adopt, Max and I were threatening to bring two kittens over for her!

Sylvie, it is so hard to lose a beloved pet.  They are so much like family.  I'm sure you do miss her very much.  xxoo

Hi Susan,

I have been "away" a while.  How CUTE they are when they are small!  My Mom and her brother in another country where cats are free to roam, took care of the neighborhood cats.  Though not their pets, they got lots of joy doing that.

That was a very nice thing to do for your friends/clients.

Aawww, They are ADORABLE!  I have been eyeing kittens ALOT lately.  It is so wonderful that they had room in their hearts to adopt these two - it won't replace the loss they have experienced but looking at the pics and video Smokey and Bandit will surely bring laughter back to their hearts!

I still think she should have gotten a dog Susie!

They surly seem like a lively couple. We only have one cat and he provides a lot of entertainment on his own, let alone when he ambushes the dog for no apparent reason.

Hi Rita, Denise is very happy!

Hi Simone!  It has been awhile.  I hope all is well.

Hannah!  I'm sorry you are allergic.  A nice cat is a nice gift.

Caren, they do make them laugh.  Denise calls me almost everyday with a new kitten story!

Leesa, don't wait!!  Go over and get a pair of them.  They are so funny in pairs!

Robby, their lifestyle doesn't fit a dog right now.  The kittens are perfect.  Did you sign up for triple play yet?

JL, my cat terrorizes my dog.  He is so afraid of her!

Sheldon, you are an absolute love and a gentleman.  Thank you for the call.  Always great to hear from my fave British Agent!  I was just teasing you though.  xxoo
