I talked to my trainer today to discuss my progress in the last three weeks. I was happy to have a few more calories added, and a slight increase in supplements. He liked my progress photos and said we were on the right track. In the three weeks since our last conversation, I lost 1% body fat but my weight stayed the same.
Like anything in life, change happens. We either cause it to change or it changes and we adapt. I tend to be a control freak about things so I like it better when I cause the change. That can take a lot of self reflection though as some people are very resistant to change - think "Who Moved My Cheese".
What I learned from my trainer is that slow, incremental change strengthens the foundation on which we build everything. As it applies to real estate, when I first started in the business, I took every class known to man to prepare myself for the multi-faceted world of selling and buying homes. Overwhelmed was an understatement. I had so much information coming at me I didn't know what to do with it.
It was when I made a committment to take at least one class a week, and implement one thing I learned into my business that my real estate foundation became solid.
I went to college with friends who went right to grad school when they graduated. Me, I've always been a book smart AND street smart believer. If I can not apply the lessons I learned before I learn something new, I've pretty much wasted my time - I tend to have a very short attention span. I worked for about 6 years before going back to grad school. I feel like I brought much more of me to the table, armed with real world experience and book smart.
So when you get all of those emails from Title Co's, Home Warranty's Co.'s and whoever is offering a class, self reflect, see where the gaps are, and take the class that will matter the most to your business. Things that are worth having take time.
Happy Tuesday

Nicely put Robyne, I agree with the concept of street smart AND book smart being a winning combination. Also like your thoughts on change and the "who moved my cheese" mentality. Not a good mindset to have if you're in the real estate business.
