When is the best time to post a blog? That's a great question! I'm not sure I have the answer but I do remember reading some comments discussing various times being better than others.
I have posted blogs at midnight that were Featured the next day. You would think that was the worst time to post a blog.
Other blogs, which I thought might generate lots of comments, posted in the middle of the day, go unnoticed.
I think blogs posted earlier in the day have a chance of more readers than later in the day.
What is your experience? When do you get the most readers?

17 Comments on The Best time to Post a Blog - The Worst Time to Post a Blog
Hi Sharon, I don't have a clue what the best time is. I think it is the subject that attracts people to read a blog. You are in an area close to my heart. I lives on Amelia Island for 26 years before moving to Williamsburg due to my husband's job. I was a realtor there for a couple of years.
Hello Sharon, I too have wondered about this and find it interesting that you have written about it today. I'm not sure when the best time is for sure, but I think the ones posted in the evening do better, or first thing in the am.
I find it funny that those posts that seemingly aren't of real interest and information get featured and others with not as much meat don't. I don't think there's any rhyme or reason tell ya the truth.
I'm going to watch to see who comments and give us both a clue. Keep me posted wil ya|
Thanks,
Patricia
Sharon,
You are coming with a million-dollar question. So many times I was asking it myself. I am usually writing very late. My last disappointment was when I put a post with a slide show/video, whihc I tried to make a funny one (Sex In The City... In The Oldest City That Is and I apologize for the link)
In my opinion it had the title, being short (a virtue for me), and the only bad thing was the timing. I posted it after 3 AM. The other problem with it was that I posted it to Localism, and so many members see Professional only, and Localism blogs do not show on the first page, and members do not see them. Next day I changed it to Professional and reposted it, but it went into oblivion.
Sometimes posts that you do not think much about, get a lot of attention. Go figure
After doing an in-depth analysis of blog statistics I can honestly say:
It's a crap-shoot!!!!
Hi Sharon - I've been on AR for over three years and don't have any conclusive evidence one way or the other. You just have to figure that if you provide enough good quality content, your readership will average out over time.
I have NOTHING to contribute...I have no Idea, so probably shouldn't comment, but I have had the VERY same question, so I'm interested to see what your responses are. thanks
(You posted at midnight?...when do you sleep)
Sybil, you are spot on there. Amelia Island is so beautiful! And Williamsburg is so charming. You have lived in two great places!
Patricia, for me there isn't any definite pattern. As Sybil said, I think it's more the topic.
Jon, you and I are both night owls! I agree that some very good posts go unnoticed because we're posting them in the wee hours!
Ralph, you are probably right! lol
John, your opinion is very respected and that is a very good point. Even if someone doesn't see a post tonight, there's always tomorrow.
Kathleen, well thanks for stopping by anyway. Sleep? Did you read Jeff Dowler's post yesterday? I think many of us bloggers are sleep-deprived! lol
Just read Jeff's post...total hoot, mostly because it is true! Thank you
Post your blog when your thinking cap is on and you are completely coherent. The most optimum time is at wine-thirty :)
Kathleen, I know! You're welcome :)
Melinda, wine-thirty works for me! :)
Hi Sharon! I love Melinda's comment! Hey, I have NO clue what the best time to post is but, I have noticed that the middle of the day is not the best time to generate alot of comments though! Funny but, some of my favorite bloggers are on at completely different times of the day than I am and I'll find something that they posted that I completely missed because they've fallen to the bottom of my blog roll by the time I log on! I guess that is the million point question, huh?! ;-)
Have a wonderful weekend...
Thanks, Debe! Apparently it is the million point question! Hmmm, maybe it would make a good contest!? You also have a great weekend!
Hey Sharon - I have long since learned that the number of comments is often inverse to the value that I place on the post. I don't have a clue as to what time is better. I usually post between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. and have tried other times. If I don't get many comments, I usually edit it and repost to different groups.
Ryan, the thought is more rhetorical on my part, and I wondered if anyone in the AR blogosphere had any insight. I know when you post - I'm on then, too! :)
There is no time perfered over another, I used to think the middle of the afternoon caught the west coast as well as east. But that didn't work either.
