The first week of October every year sure changes the size of one beautiful small Texas town.  The restaurants are full, the bed and breakfasts have all been booked ahead for over a year, and people crowd the road going to Warrenton and Round Top, a short distance up the road.

Because LaGrange is such a unique and beautiful spot along the Colorado River, many of the vendors and attendees to the Warrenton Antiques Fair decide to look for some kind of  local property--a farm, a ranch, a house.

There is something real estate wise for everyone--except a condo or apartment in a tall high rise.  The Fayette County Courthouse with its 4 floors is the tallest building in LaGrange.

There is a very nice new little home for sale in LaGrange on a very private, covered with tall pine trees, small lot, that could be enjoyed as a second home, or even a primary home.   The property is listed for $137,000 with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a 3 car garage, title and carpeted floors.

I spent several happy hard working and unprofitable years as an antique dealer.  I am dipping my toe into again with the idea that I'd like to do that in retirement.  The antique dealers are a very diverse group interesting folks.

It is similar to real estate in that a lot of it is figuring out the value of what you are selling. It also involves working 24/7 and connecting with people - sound familiar?

Have a good time - buy some cool closing gifts!
