By
Real Estate Agent with William RAVEIS Realty

Recently Bob and I had wrote about one of our clients who was diagnosed with breast cancer. We are pulling for her an wish her the very best of luck with her treatment.  In her honor Bob and I are helping to raise money for the Support Connection, an organization that has helped many women, our customer included,  with support service to help them through their treatment.  Bob and I have volunteered at this organization for years. The Support Connection helps women and their families who are suffering from breast or ovarian cancer. We recognize even more now, as we have been touched personally yet again, how important this organization is. We are fund-raising for the annual walk in October. If you have even $1 to spare and would like to contribute to this worthy cause please follow the below link!  We thank you for taking the time to read this post!

What a worthy cause.

My wife is active in Relay For Life and is amazed at the growing success stories. Keep up the good work raising funds for research and hopefully there will come a day when every story is a success story.

Hi Diane and Bob,

Let me first thank you for your great cause.  My partner was 43 when she was diagnosed with Stage 1 ovarian cancer.  As you know, she was very fortunate to be diagnosed that early.

The signs are silent and the diagnosis in later stages is deadly.  It is imperative we get the word out to women about these silent symptoms and we need so much more awareness.

When I went to the chemo treatments with Andrea, I picked up the cancer magazine offered in the waiting area.  Of the nearly 80 pages, there was only one article about ovarian cancer and the remainder (large part) was about breast cancer.  Both so important, and awareness is critical.

I am going to look into the organization and you can bet I will be giving as well!

Thanks so much!

Diane

Diane,

I am hoping Andrea is doing well!  The Support Connection has a wonderful advocate for women for Ovarian Cancer.  Maria's mother was finally diagnosed after many, many trips to the Doctor and unfortunately she passed away.  When Maria began experiencing the same symptoms she pushed her doctors and would not accept their opinions.  She finally convinced a Doctor to listen to her and she was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer as well. To hear her speak at the Support Connection events brings everyone to tears but her message is heard loud and clear - BE YOUR OWN ADVOCATE and KNOW YOUR OWN BODY.  Best of Luck to you and your partner and wishing you years of good heasourtoplth!!!

Richard,

The progress is amazing!  Volunteering and donating to these organizations is very rewarding as over the past ten years alone we can see the progress made!

Hi Diane and Bob-

Your blog popped up on my Google alert this morning; how surprised was I? This is such a wonderful thing you're doing for Support Connection and the women we serve who are affected by breast and ovarian cancer. Every donation truly makes a difference because as I'm sure you know, all of our services are free and we are totally independent and rely on donations and grants. So....THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!

For your friend who wanted to know more about us, our website is www.supportconnection.org.

Thank you again!

Barbara Cervoni, Director of Services & Communication, Support Connection, Inc.
