Rattlesnake Festival in San Antonio, Florida - October 17 & 18, 2009

Snakelogo2_2 Hard to believe, but a year has gone by, and I wanted to let you know that the San Antonio Rattlesnake Festival in San Antonio, Florida will take place on October 17th and 18th of 2009. San Antonio, Florida just to the north of Tampa and a couple of miles east of Interstate 75 in the hills of Pasco County.

This is a very popular event, and of course, encompasses more than rattlesnakes. Some of the events are:

Snake Shows
Gopher Races
Arts & Crafts
Food (Including their famous barbecue chicken)
Reptile Shows
Entertainment Venues
Foot Races
Western Wear Contest
Photography Contest
Beauty Pageant
Wildlife Exhibits
Petting Farm
And more

Admission to the festival and parking are FREE! Though some shows have admission fees.

Admission to Snake Show and Reptile Show are $5.00 for adults and $2.00 for children under 12 years of age.

It looks and sound like a good time. I would like to go to it once. I can't wait to retire

John, first of all I didn't even know there was a San Antonio, Florida! Second, a Rattlesnake Festival? Wow, we learn new things every day here in the Rain! I'm sure it will be interesting - great local post.

Russ, Frank and Sharon - Our autumns here are great and the San Antonio area is hilly and filled with orange groves. It is a little town with a town square very much like up in New England. I am not sure when the Festival began, but has been going since I arrived here a long time ago. Very popular.

John - I have lived in Wesley Chapel for 9 years and have yet to attend the Rattlesnake Festival in San Antonio. Maybe this will be my year. Thanks for sharing this info.

Glad you caught the post Judy. Today was actually so nice and cooler than normal. Hopefully the same will be true during the festival. It is a unique event that you do not often see.
