Since relocating to Portland in 1990, I noticed why they called it the City of Roses . . .
When I bought a home, I planted a lot of rose bushes, I wanted to feel included in the city of roses!
Now I have my own city of roses in my backyard! There was something about the vibrant color that made me want to snap this photo. I saw the beautiful yellow almost shining from across the yard. Then when I started to photograph it, I realized that while one rose was in full bloom, two others are waiting to take its place. I like the thought of that. Not of taking someone's place, but the cycle of nature and the continual bloom of beauty. There is nothing as nice as having your own city of roses!
