Hi Bruce - No it's not far at all! and yes they are aspens - so pretty!
Hello Jeremy - I use a Nikon and these were shot with a 50mm prime lens. Thanks for stopping by!
Hi Rebecca - early here too - the high tomorro is supposed to be 45!
Hey there Paul - Thank you, my friend!
Hi Gary! Come on out! Colorado will NOT disappoint!
Hey Toula - they are called birch back there - and aspen out here - look much the same to me, but I guess there is some kind of difference!
Karen - Oh good! you'll have to share your Sunday drive photos with us!
Hello Michael - thank you :) We had really high winds today - so the leaves are falling quickly around here....
Hi Ian - I've never been to Chicago in the fall - I'll bet it's gorgeous!
Hi Jim - Lots of places with incredible heat this year ... but not up here. I'd have been happy with a little more heat!
Thank you Carissa! Have you been to Colorado? If not, you can come out with Gary! LOL
Debi
Aloha Kimo! You're quite right! What did you do in Ophir? As a kid, I lived in Hawaii for a couple years - you've got your own special beauty there, as well!
Hey there Michael- Why, Thank you, sir! They just seemed like sentinels to me....
Anyone been watching Ken Burns' National Parks special? Amazing! I have a long list of those I have not visited yet - and great memories of those that I have. I find the history in this series extremely interesting.
Simply beautiful, Debi. Your photos are probably the best thing on ActiveRain. I always look forward to seeing them.
Aww Debi these are gorgeous....love the Title, matches the first picture quite well ;)
Hi Debi, These photos are fantastic, of course I love the aspen this time of year, and I love the way you captured them, especially the aspen grove, it's just beautiful.
Thanks so much, Shirley! I'm very glad you enjoy them!
Hey there, Kathy! Thanks - it's good to see you!
Hi Miss Mary! The aspens are the reason I love fall! Bet it's gorgeous up your way too! Going to Rocky Mnt Nat'l Park this weekend (my birthday celebration!) I was there last year for the elk rut - it was so beautiful up there, can't wait! Have you been watching the PBS special?
Debi
Hellou Debou....seeing the changes in Georgia right now as well...just starting here. Beautiful pics....thinking of you :-)
Gail
Hey my Libra Friend!! I should have guessed - what day is your birthday?? It is very pretty here, in spots -- the best colors were last weekend, and then the winds came and blew many of the leaves to the ground! I have been watching the PBS special, I'm recording it too, because I get sleepy watching ti for 2 full hours! Happy Birthday Debi, enjoy the trip to RMNP!!!
I love the Aspen trees. While in Colorado in the fall, the people I know call them Quakies (that's probably misspelled) because of the sound the leaves make in a breeze!
Hi Gail! Thinking about you lots, too! Hope you're having a wonderful time. Where in Georgia are you? - Is your weather good? And how's the rig holding up? Hope you have some photos to share with me - I've never been there and want to see what it's like...Hey to John and the kitties! Call soon and catch me up ;)
Mary! Are you a Libra too????? What day? Today is my big day - October 2. It's been wonderful, but can't wait to head up to the park tomorro morning! That's when the celebrating begins for me. I have been mesmerized by the Park special. I now have a very long list of places to visit! Including Red Feather Lakes.... :)
Hi Russell - they are beautiful, aren't they? And the sound is very, well, soothing I guess is the best word I can come up with. Calming. Heard about Big Bend Nat'l Park on the PBS special, and from a friend who's been there - She said it is immense! Have you been there?
Have to go to bed now - have to get up early for the trip, and I'm really not very good at that! LOL
Debi
Hi Debi - The park special has made a huge addition to my list of places to see, too! I beat you by one day. my B-day is Oct. 1 !!! Happy Birthday Debi, and enjoy your trip - looks like a gorgeous day from here.
Outstanding photo. Great Aspens. What's the color like in Woodland Park this weekend?
As usual Debi, simply fabulous!!! Your have the the eye, talent and skill all-right, in spades! Just look at that beautiful bark.
Happy belated birthday to 2 of my favorite ladies. I have also seen the elk in Estes....quite a sight. I'll call soon.
Gail
Hi Debi! Hope you're doing well! As always, I love your photos--my favorite is of the close-up of the unique trunk, looking towards the sky...just as they grow!
Have a wonderful Wednesday...
Please extend your photo contributions to a couple more times a week Debi!
Thank you for your insight,
Paul
Debi Another lovely shots, you really have a great eye for what makes a great subject.
Hi Michele - Thanks for visiting - I appreciate your comment!
Hey Mary! WhooHOO! A couple of awesome Libras we are!!!! Happy birthday to you too! Trip to RMP was great, but the weather not so cooperative...cloudy and COLD!
Hello Marianne - Well, the color was still good, but the wind was making short work of it! I love this time of year, don't you? How long have you been with Herman Group? A great bunch down there!
Hello there Cynthia! Thank you so much! You know, that tree is about to die - it was cracked near the base somehow - made me sad, but still had it's brave beauty goin' on.... It won't survive the winter. :(
Hey Miss Gail! Good to hear from you - hope is going well 'on the road'! Maybe next year we can see the elk in Estes together? !!!!!
Hi Debe - it's my favorite too - but poor thing won't last long. See my comment to Cynthia- and it is an old one, too...
Hey Paul! If I did that you'd all get tired of me!!!LOL
