Maureen McCabe - Trick or Treat 2009 in Central Ohio

jack-o-lanternI hate writing events posts and I was putting off going looking for Trick or Treat for Columbus, Dublin, Grandview Heights, Gahanna, Hilliard,  Lewis Center, Powell, Upper Arlingto, Westerville and Worthington.

Procrastinate long enough and you can just link to a site like Columbus Parent's Magazine's Kids Linked who has the list of Columbus area Trick or Treat times!

Kids Linked - Trick or Treat 2009  and more

Trick or Treat 2009 in Central Ohio

You really only care about the Beggars Night date for where you live don't you?  Mostly?  Most of the suburbs I really care about Dublin,  Gahanna, Hilliard, New Albany, Powell,  Upper Arlington, and  Worthington are having Beggars Night (Trick or Treat) on Thursday October 29, 2009.  City of Columbus is Thursday October 29, 2009.

Grandview Heights and Westerville have their Beggars Night (Trick or Treat ) on Saturday October 31, 2009, Halloween!

Trick or Treat 2009 - the mystery of Lewis Center

Lewis Center area? Lewis Center is not on the Kids Linked list but lots of further out areas are.  Lewis Center is not a city... EDIT Wrong I would bet Lewis Center  has Trick or Treat in the Orange Township area on Thursday October 29, 2009 like Powell, Worthington  the nearby suburbs... but Lewis Center is near Westerville which has a Saturday Beggars Night and Galena and Sunbury's Beggars Night are Saturday...

The Orange Township website shows - the Orange Township Trick or Treat is Halloween, Sunday EDIT Saturday October 31!

Trick or Treat 2009 in Central Ohio - outlying communities

I wrote "Most of the suburbs I really care about" it's not that I don't care about further out... and Columbus Kids Linked has the scoop on further out and parts of Central Ohio.

Really visit the Kid's Linked site... they have links to many of the community websites on their  local Halloween  calendar, you will want to double check for your kids...  I went to double and triple check Westerville.

The Kids Linked list also has pumpkin shows, corn mazes, haunted houses, haunted train rides...

EDIT - Channel 10 TV list of Trick or Treat 2009 - more outlying towns

This is one I have done for our area and should do again...it's a dentist's delight holiday...and I have read that the decoration expenditures are now rivaling Christmas....scary stuff....enjoy !

Maureen - I was just going to spend the day myself trying to gather all the info for area events, haunted houses, et cetera for Halloween.  Thanks for the prompt and also for letting me know that it isn't just me that finds this a daunting task.

Leesa I have always hated events lists.  This year I have posted and found out things were canceled!!!! So I am trying to not waste a lot of time on them but I can see huge traffic from earlier years Trick or Treat  and I would think that is the kind of thing that can NOT be canceled.

Hi Maureen... I remember Haloween being HUGE in the Columbus area when I lived there.  Some cities really know how to make things fun!

Oshkosh Wisconsin I think had /has a big Halloween party... UW Oshkosh,  Madison WI had a great way of celebrating Halloween as I recall. Except that starting things on fire thing.   OU at Athens is notorious for their Halloween party...

I never made it to the CCAD costume party in Columbus.  I love to dress up.  We did not make it to the Short North party last year because we needed to be in the Detroit area for a 1st birthday party the next day.   People in that area celebrate it more than anywhere I am aware of... some with the fire, devil, hell stuff that scares me a bit.

Eight..years or so ago we had a small intimate party for some friends who were  getting married in November and it was Halloween weekend so some of us dressed up.  I went as a groom, black pants, black jacket white shirt and tie.  I made a wedding gown for my significant other to go as the bride.  He was a really, really ugly bride.

I love to dress up... and dress others up.  Puppies, kittens, my little brothers...
