There is no justice in the world on this one, wheelbarrows full of cash for his Mea Culpe. What a great example for the youth of this world. I think Nike made a big boo boo on this one, Photoshop hasn't been this busy since George Bush left office. I am disgusted with Nike's complete lack of concern for the image they are portraying. I guess Nike wants to increase it's market share in the up and coming consumer nation of Afghanistan where dog fighting is a national past time.

Maple Ridge British Columbia wickipedia entryThe District of Maple Ridge was incorporated September 12, 1874, it covered an area of 33,000 acres (130 km²) yet only had approximately 50 families living in the town. Maple Ridge is British Columbia's sixth-oldest municipality (after New Westminster, Victoria, Langley, Lake Cowichan, and Chilliwack). Until the expansion of Metro Vancouver (the GVRD) it was part of the now-defunct Dewdney-Alouette Regional District with the city of Pitt Meadows and District of Mission and other north-side communities east to Chehalis.

River Springs Coquitlam British Columbia Strata living

I's hard to beat living in River Springs. Nestled at the base of Burke Mountain in Coquitlam, residents here enjoy a standard of living that will remind you of days gone by. People going out for walks, neighbours acting neighbourly, there's a sense of saftey and security that makes it a great place to raise a family or retire in peace and quiet.

Located 45 kilometers east of Vancouver, it is a progressive community well-known for its beautiful countryside and spectacular scenery. It is a community of urban sophistication that retains a sense of rural charm.

I was a big Michael Vick supporter during his days at VT and first NFL days. Unfortuantely his choices have left everyone wondering WHY? I don't buy the excuses and certainly not the open arm acceptance back into the NFL and sponsorships. Yes he did do the time and "pay" his debt to society but does that mean he should now earn millions of dollars?

Hi Cindy, its not even the money I shake my head at it's the tacit societal approval of this matter as no big deal. It's the same thing that occurs with the glorification of the gang lifesstyle sucking in children at a young age.

Let him play ball, no one should lose their livelyhood even Michael Vick but to put his face on Shoe ads says all the wrong things to the youth of this world.

I agree Scott. What kind of example are they portraying for their company? I think it is great they sponsor upstanding athletes like Tiger Woods, but sponsoring some of the football players with drug convictions, dog fighting raps, and domestic violence beefs is down right flabbergasting. I guess it is because Nike is such a dominant company in the sporting world. They just try to sponsor everybody so no one else can.

Brian: I guess that must be what it comes down to...no publicity is bad publicity, if we dont get em someone else will. What a sad state of affairs. No Nike shoes for my kids if I can help it, lucky Ive got girls!

I live in the Philly area and will always cheer for the other team against the Eagles. I dont care if he did his time. He is a twisted little man.

Good for you Larry! I would never want to Ban someone from doing something like this however the publics right to boycott is powerful and should be encouraged.

Scott, that is beyond disgusting. We are now rewarding people for abhorrent behaviour. What a wonderful society we have created.

Scott: Vick should never be allowed to play in the NFL. As a fromer Philadelphian, the Eagles blew it bigtime. As a Patriots fan, there had been a little talk of him coming here. Had that happened, there would have been season-ticket cancellations left and right. Good thing he is there and not here. But, too bad he is there at all.

Terry: It's a true shame

Scott: I disagree, 'shouldn't be allowed' is a moral, not legal decision. You can boycott and vote with your feet facing the other direction though and that is a vote I am making with Nike.

Scott, I think Vick should have been allowed to return to society in any job he wanted to do - NOT THE NFL!. He could be a spokesman for Gold like Gordon Liddy. Convicted felon makes good.

Nothing he can say takes away from the horrendous acts he carried out with his own hands. If he saw nothing wrong with it and considered it sport at the time - he is only repenting now because he got caught. Every serial killer started out torturing and killing animals.

I know a lot of AR members do not agree with me, but that's my opinion. I can forgive him. No problem. Let him get a job at McDonalds.

NIKE - I hope it's a huge financial mistake. I also heard that every NFL player has not only Jerseys, but some company put out Dog Jerseys with players on them. One was made for Vick too. That was the height of stupidity. I heard Dick's sporting goods refused to carry them.

Scott, If I were a Nike fan (New Balance myself), I would not buy anymore from them. Getting out of jail is his reward, and he should spend years rebuilding faith and integrity, before being allowed to return to the rich lifestyle.

The former Atlanta Falcons star quarterback who is none other than Michael Vick, which is convicted because of his involvement in bankrolling and running a dog-fighting ring is going to be a controversial figure until the end of time. And the rumors of a Michael Vick Nike contract have a lot of people up in arms. A Michael Vick Nike contract would be some bad PR, and the backup quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles sparks protest everywhere. Nike has vehemently denied such a contract exists. Vick hasn't posted great stats yet this season, and may get traded at the end of the season. Instead of filling out a personal loan application to start a Michael Vick Nike contract protest, why don't you go out and protest Nike's non-adherence to Fair Trade principles in their overseas factories – where human beings are ill-treated.

Meredithi: I havn't bought a pair of Phil Nike's shoes in years as a personal protest of their practises...can you say the same? Vick is just the latest outrage this seemingly soulless corporation has offended me with.

I think Nike screwed up too. Michael did his time, yes ... but he has yet to prove to us that he has really changed ... and even then ... let him SPEND some money on good causes, and mending his ways, before we make him rich and make him an even bigger celebrity.

I have never bought Nike shoes for other reasons... this one just confirms that I was right all along to choose someone else's shoes for me and my son. Sometimes a big company like that has to set an example, and they're not good at it. They only care about the mighty dollar.
