I have to say, I hope not to cross paths with these fellows too often.  They were nice guys, and both had great sense of humor.  I suppose that is how it has to be in their field of endeavor. But they came out on short notice, worked hard, and got the job done. And B&D Septic Service sure knows their SEO. They are all over the internet, and own their realm on Google.

You know, some of the least appreciated services are also among the least appealing jobs.  Go figure.

The Day of the Honeydipper

The Day of the Honeydipper

I didn't shake his hand. He says he doesn't get a lot of handshakes during his work day.

Lots of folks think a septic tank should be pumped every 5 years as preventive maintenance. I like living in town, myself, where I have a straight pipe to some place beyond the curb.

My Sellers had this one pumped for a Buyer in Raleigh, who wanted it done prior to contract. $195 later, we're flush for another 5 years.

Mike, Sounds like your experience with the septic folks was necessary. It's a messy job but someone is probably happy to get paid.

Hi Mike~ I am with you.  I would much rather live in town with the straight pipe to somewhere beyond the curb, but my husband loves living in the county so we have a septic tank.  Thankfully it works like it is designed to.  Yes, preventative maintenance is always best, especially when it comes to a septic system!

Barbara,

I told the fellows, "You aren't overpaid."
They were agreeable to that concept.

Vickie,

Much better on a Tuesday aftgernoon than a Sunday morning, I think.

David,

No problem!

Note to self:

I CANNOT believe my 500th AR blog post was about honeydippers.

I just cannot believe it.

Our county requires them pumped every 3 year and a report filed. Where do they empty that tanker after it is filled up, yuck for the thought.

Mary,

I feel informed by your first sentence and have proactively decided to not contemplate your second...
