Selling a Home ? Then company is coming - Everyday!

By
Home Stager with Home Star Staging

Imagine a day where company will be showing up on your doorstep  - everyday!

I don't know about you but I wouldn't be too happy in that knowledge if I wasn't aware of my guest's arrival.  If you're like me, when I host my company I want it to be an experience, relaxing, fun, entertaining and most of all, stress free for me (well I try but once they get here I "let it go").  Now, what does this have to do with staging you ask.... Well, I'll be happy to lead you through that door...

When selling a home buyers are the company that come EVERYDAY while your home is on the market.  Let's set the scene:

  • These are important guests
  • These are discriminating guests
  • These guests don't need a reservation (they have an agent)
  • These guests will definitely open your closets and cabinets (and we know the horror of that - how many of us have thrown things in closets in a hurry when we get the unexpected phone call - "do you mind if we stop by?")
  • These guests have money
  • These guests will book their reservation or say NEXT!
  • These guests have what you need and want (cash and a desire to buy a house)
  • These guest are looking for an extended stay - for life!

You don't need to be a scout for www.hotels.com to figure this one out. IF YOU ARE SELLING A HOUSE, YOU WANT COMPANY TO COME EVERYDAY UNTIL IT SELLS!

Treat your potential buyers as honored guests, not an unwelcome inconvenience. You've opened the door and welcomed them in through the MLS haven't you?

Staging is a way to not only show your house in the best possible condition but it also makes it easier for you to open your doors on a daily basis to the buyers and agents who will be walking through.

A home that is STAGED is a HOME  that is EASY TO MAINTAIN and one that is READY FOR SHOW AT A MOMENT'S NOTICE.

Contact a Professional Home Stager today to get started.  You'll be so much more relaxed that you did!

I really enjoyed your post.  I love to go in houses that are spic and span.  Then I come home to mine after working with buyers, marketing, researching properties all day and wonder where the little clean up fairies are that made the houses I show so sparkling and I wish that they would come to my house every day and work their magic.  So I just gave you Stagers a new tag line:  Clean up fairies that work magic.

Seriously though my buyers do not stay long in messy houses and generally do not put offers on them.  I can tell when I open the door if I will be able to sell that home by the way it is kept/staged.

Karen, If what I'm saying is a repeat of the other comments, it is because I agree with all of them that you have done an excellent job of making this information easy to read and understand. In other words, YOU ROCK!! That is great!

I've just had a weekend of company for my son's high school graduation, and did your post hit home. There was no way I would have let them in my master bedroom closet!

I would also love to "borrow" this for my listings! I will definitely give you credit. You have hit a home run with this post. It needs to be in your portfolio too. If I were in your area, instead of S California, you would have all of my business!

Great anaology, Karen.  The more ways you can drive this home the better. It's critical.

Amen, sister!  Also realize that the agent that is showing them the house isn't the enemy!

I am a cleaning machine when I find out that guests will be coming. My mother is selling her house and my brother said that the house never looked that good the whole time they lived there!

Christy, sometimes in order to motivate myself to do a deep clean I plan a party! Then I turn into a cleaning maniac.. ! It works for me.

This is a cute post. And all the things you say are so true. Sellers need to be in that mind set until the home is sold.
