I call it a snow fall.   I am not sure they refer to it by any other name here in Montana.  We are not equipped with ploughs in Red Lodge as they are in Montreal or in your area.  Luckily, most of the snow melts away within a few hours after the sun comes up.

Thanks for stopping by to comment.  I can wait for at least another month before the blanket of white sets in.  I am still enjoying the blanket of yellow, orange and red with the nice blue sky.   I found it interesting that some white mixed in with the foliage colors as early as on the morning of the first day of October.  The snow had melted away by the time I drove by the same place later in the day.

I agree.  You have to be quick and opportunistic during this time of the year to capture the local scenery as the transition from summer to winter seems to happen much more quickly when you live at higher altitudes.

I hope you had a good time in Florida.   I enjoyed the way you described the passage from Fall to Winter.  It was a big BAM!  Please check my next post for more photos of the BAM transition.  

The visit with my dad went very well.   He enjoyed the above seasonal temperature while he has here and he left before the first snow.  He thought I was kidding when I told him over the phone that he just missed the snow by two days.   BAM!  The big drop in temperature happened so suddenly.
