The best baby back ribs ever@The Gristmill in Gruene Texas

We went over to Gruene last evening and walked around awhile and enjoyed the evening then went to eat "our favorite" baby back ribs; giant onion rings and special beans. Oh so good!

Shoosh don't tell anyone but everything on the menu is the best ever.

Here is a photo of one of the old renovated homes over at Gruene, Texas

When you see this you know you're in Gruene Texas

We sat down on the lower level where we could see the water and watch the sun set.

If you have been to Gruene then you should plan another visit soon. If you have not you really should plan a visit. This is our favorite time of the year.

Well Gruene is a fab place to hang out and eat.  We have been going to he Gristmill for years.  Love it!  But I will have to say that the chickn fried steak is the best, this is as big as you plate, where the sides actually come on the side because there is no room, is the best in Central Texas!  Hope you all had a good time!

Jay thanks for stopping to comment.  I also had a pic of the Texas Dance Hall but will save it for another time. We like to go during the week when it is not so crowded. I agree that is one Texas size chicken friend steak they serve.I have never had anything I didn't like.

Lisa it really is a great view and you can even hear the water running and the breeze blowing through the trees. There is lots of history in that old building for sure. They do a fabulous business; locals and tourist.

I am tempted to tell Stephen about your post and head out to Gruene for Chicken Fried Steak this week-end but with his aneurysm, that's not a good idea.  I love the Gristmill and Gruene.

Shirley: It is suppose to be a drizzle most of the day; wait until a nice day so you can sit outside.

Dale: There certainlly is allot of history. Folks just like tol wonder around and go through all the shops.

Marcial - Be sure to put that on your things-to-do next time you're done this way.

Richard: You can't miss Gruene Hall, a great place to sit awhile, have a cold drink, wonder around, come back and do it all over again. Sure can hear some music coming from there in the evenings.

    Hi, Carl and Ceil:

I've never been to the Gristmill. I will have to check it out. I love Gruene, too, and now is a good time to go there, since it's a bit cooler and not as crowded. Buck's Pottery is one of my favorite places to browse.

    Cheers,

    Robin

I used to stop in Greune all the time to stock up on food and beverages on the way to Canyon Lake each Fourth of July. Did that for 19 years. Only stopped when I moved to San Diego.

Robin you need to come on over and visit some of the stores. My sister has a booth in one of the antique shops. She says you would know the economy is suppose to be in a downturn. Business is brisk.

Russell you need to plan a trip back to TEXAS sometime. You would not believe the growth in this area.
