Just Say NO to active Rain

Newbies, Just say no to active rain.  It is too late for me,  but maybe you should go back while you still can.

Example:   This is my small child putting desitin all over the dog,  while his mother was on active rain.  They were only two feet away from me, but I wasn’t aware of  anything  until I smelled that minty fresh smell. (Apparently desitin works to take you out of an AR coma)

Child and Dog

If you do not heed my warning here are some things you need to know:

You will gain knowledge here like no where else.

You will make deep friendships.

You will make invaluable business connections.

If you have no idea what a blog is, how to do it, or why it’s important just hang around, the best of the best will probably rub off on you.

If you choose to stay, These are some places to go:

Gary Woltol is where you go if you want to expect great things.  He ALWAYS makes my day better.  In fact, if he had a band I’d probably be a groupie.

Alan May is where to go for sharp witted entertainment  (and Amazing military photos).  He’s an artist, and takes this stuff seriously, so don’t leave him any crappy comments, and absolutely no spam. He won’t let you get away with it.

TLW.  The Lovely Wife.  She is basically a rebel (sometimes with a cause). Just do what ever she tells you.  She is famous here and a pretty good shot.  PS don't steal any of her stuff, she HATES that.

For home inspection info and knowledge go to Charles Buell. He’s done it forever, seen it all, has a keen eye for detail and some amazing stories to share.

For great information about our industry straight from people who have been in the trenches awhile go see Patricia Kennedy,  Lynn Harley,  Karen Ann Stone, Jim Crawford, or Broker Bryant.

If you want to know why you are here, what to do while you are here, or how to do anything technical, some good resources include:  Active Brad,  Jeff turner, Lisa Udy, Mike Judge, or Bob Stewart.

If work gets hard, check in on a Friday, everyone posts jokes and you will end up laughing until your gut hurts.

I could go on and on but I better sign off….I smell something.

Don't be too timid and squeamish about your actions.  All life is an experimemt.  The more experiments you make the better.  Ralph Waldo Emerson

Hi Kathleen,  Looks like your son had a real good time, while you were typing! :)  He is very cute!  and i do love dogs also. nice docile dog.   Yes I love AR also. I have learned so very much on here. I will always be on AR!  So much knowledge in one place.. very glad I found it by accident.

I am surprised that the dog was so patience in allowing your son to apply Destin. As to getting involved with AR, I think that a warning should be issue ---like be prepared good things can happen when you get involved with AR.

Kathleen, if any of my children were near the age of your son, I'm sure something along this line would have happened! Since I've been addicted to joined Active Rain, many things have fallen by the wayside, but the tremendous networking friendships and knowledge just can't be described unless you've done it as well. And guess what? I'm really beginning to understand SEO - and I'm not paying anyone hundreds of dolllars a month to do it! Have a great weekend!

Georgia, I'm afraid it's too late for BOTH of us.  Keep some desitin handy, it's a good tool for cractivarians.

Kathleen ~ ActiveRain is very addicting. There is so much information to read and learn about, not to mention all the sharing we do as well. I have been a member since 3/08 and still feel I miss a lot of great posts! There just is not enough time to read everything that is posted here.

You suggestions of where to find some great reads should be very helpful to AR newbies. I have followed them around since I joined as well.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Kathleen - AR has become such an addiction for me that it is beginning to interfere with my work!  No kidding!  I'm having to set a specific time schedule to allow myself to be on here; otherwise, I'd be on here all day!

Oh the things my son has done while on the rain..... We have black and white pergo tiles in our kitchen/dining room.  He once managed to find a hot pink hi-liter and color a good many of the white tiles while I was blogging.  Of course it was right when my husband got home, and stepped in to our new black/hot pink floored dining room....  I wish wish wish I had a picture, but I had to step in before he sold off the kid to pay for new floors, LOL!

Oh and then the time he got a black permanent marker and practiced his handwriting on the edge of the counter top, including his name.

Gotta love them! Otherwise you end up blubbering like an idiot in the corner, ha!  Enjoy the rain and the kiddo. I kinda miss mine's day of mischief.  He's a big 4 now, and it's all attitude and no innocent mischief.
