Omaha Real Estate Market - September, 2009

After slight increase over the last few months in the amount of time it was taking for homes in Omaha to sell, in September the rate of sales picked up a little. At the current rate that homes are selling, we have just under a five month supply of homes on the Omaha market

Total Number For Sale

5261

Total Number of Accepted Offers

1061

Total Number of Closed Sales

787

% of sellers that accepted an offer

20.17%

Absorption rate in months

4.96

This small uptick in sales may be attributed to the rush of buyers wanting to take advantage of the First Time Home Buyers Tax Credit. Whether this tax credit is extended past its current expiration of November 30th will have a huge impact on home sales.

Troy,

I am glad to see that your market is doing much better.  According to the news today, they featured a home here in St. Pete and stated our market is starting to do better as well, so let's keep our fingers crossed that things are looking up!
