This story was emailed to me this morning and it absolutely touched my heart.

This dog was born on Christmas Eve 2002. *He was born with 2 legs.
He could not walk when he was born.

His mother did not want him, because he was different than the rest of her beautiful pups.

A Little Bit of Faith Goes a Long Way

His first owner did not think that he could survive and was thinking of 'putting him to sleep'. But, he was blessed when he met Jude Stringfellow, who fell in love with him and took him under her wing.

She was determined to teach this precious little dog to walk by himself.

So she named him 'Faith'.

A Little Bit of Faith Goes a Long Way

In the beginning, she put Faith on a surfboard to let him feel the movement.

She used peanut butter on a spoon as a lure to reward him for standing up and jumping around.

Jude's other dog encouraged Faith to walk by himself.

Amazingly, after only 6 months, with the love and devotion given to this sweet, determined little animal, Faith learned to balance on his hind legs and to jump to move forward.

After further training in the snow, he began to walk like a human being.

Faith loves to take walks now.

No matter where he goes, he attracts a crowd of people.

He is quickly becoming famous on the international scene and has appeared in various newspapers and on TV shows.

There is now a book entitled 'With a Little Faith' being published about him.

He was even considered to appear in one of Harry Potter movies.

His owner, Jude Stringfellow has given up her teaching job and has plans to take him around the world to show that even without a perfect body, one can have a perfect soul.

With determination, anything is possible.

A Little Bit of Faith Goes a Long Way

In life there are always obstacles that we must overcome.

Faith overcomes them everyday.

A Little Bit of Faith Goes a Long Way

We should each be thankful for every day set before us.

Faith is the continual demonstration of the strength and the wonder of life.

Faith's owner is hoping that her story will be spread across the world.  So, we can all have a little bit of Faith and see that nothing is impossible, especially when someone believes in you!  Love goes a long way!

*FOOTNOTE: I wanted to do additional research on Faith, as I was so taken with the story of this woman that chose to adopt this helpless little pup. It seemed to me she looked like a little girl dog. I did find that Faith is a female dog. And, she was actually born with 3 legs, the front one was deformed, so it had to be removed.

Sandy, you brought tears to my eyes.  There really is a purpose for everything under the sun if we only recognize it in front of us.

Sandy this is such a great story and what a great dog.  Animals always amaze me with what they can learn to do, and with the love and determination of her owner Faith has accomplished amazing things.

Sonja, Great point! We are all here for a purpose.  In life there are many obstacles to overcome and ours can be small compared to others.

Barbara, Sometimes we have to open our eyes to recognize things in life, don't we?

Paul, These are great examples of love and faith.

Mary, Dogs are amazing. We can learn so much through them. Jude had a vision and believed in Faith and she brought it to light.

Lou, Faith does make all the difference. This is a phenomenal animal with an incredible owner.

Sandy, this is one of the best animal stories I have ever heard! Faith is a great example of using what you are born with for the greater good! He is an inspiration and of course his owner is a kind and generous lady for recognizing that! I say good luck to Jude and Faith!

Sandy,

Pretty amazing!  Perfection is over-rated.  Life is not perfect so why should we be???  My dog is hairy and somewhat lazy but I love him to pieces.

Thanks for sharing,

Ann

I was so intrigued by Faith, I had to do additional research to learn more.  I wondered by looking at the pictures if Faith wasn't a little girl dog, which I found she was.  I also found that she was actually born with 3 legs, but one had to be amputated as it was deformed.

Caren, This is an incredible story about a woman and her love for her pet.  This animal blossomed in her care.

Hi Ann, You're so funny...I love your attitude...your dog is hairy and somewhat lazy, but you love him to pieces. Our pets really are like a part of our family, aren't they?

Hi TO, Faith is an amazing animal.  Love can go such a long way!

Hi Amy, You're right, we can learn so many lessons from Faith.  So true!

Sandy: Thank you for posting this inspirational blog!  I saw the title and had to read it.  I don't wear much jewelry, but I have this ring I wear most of the time.  It's simple and silver and has the word "Faith" written all over it.  It's a constant reminder for me.  Without it, we're nothing.  With it, we can be anything...

Ann, Aren't animals great?  They are capable of such much.  And they love us unconditionally, especially if we show the same devotion to them.
