While other parts of the nation are celebrating the arrival of fall weather, we're not quite there yet here in San Diego. Although the calendar might say that we're in fall, San Diego doesn't always look at the calendar. For example, in 2003 and 2007, some of the worst wildfires in California history occurred in October. If we look at the hottest temperatures ever recorded in the city of San Diego since 1872 when we started keeping records, the ten hottest days have occurred in September and October: What is specifically unique about these record highs is that the official San Diego temperature is recorded at the San Diego International Airport (also known as Lindbergh Field). Our airport sits downtown on the bay, so the cool Pacific Ocean air and humidity often buffers the temperature there. It's when the Santa Ana winds arrive out of the mountains in Utah and Nevada, blowing westward and carrying that daytime desert heat into San Diego. The Santa Ana season is upon us, so continue to expect high temperatures and high winds, and remember fire safety if you smoke or have a fireplace in your Mission Valley condominium. Now is the time to have your fireplace and chimney checked by a qualified chimney sweep, as well as having your heating and cooling system checked by a qualified heating and cooling professional.

Mission Valley Condos Information
Hi Jim - We're having some unpredictable weather here. A few pretty chilly days, then a few 100 degree days, now a few in the low 80s, and who knows what next? We have had some pretty warm weather here in September too, but our hottest days are usually in August.
Hi Jim,
Here in Seattle it has been a beautiful summer but it is getting colder at night. We are all getting our umbrellas and raincoats ready LOL
Sharon
Wow! We had a cold front a couple of days ago and the temp at night went down to 71, I think (very nice!). Daytime has been in the 80's for a couple of days, going back to the low 90's after the weekend due to a burst of warmer weather (Indian summer?). We aren't anywhere near fall, either... and I did get to turn my A/C off for a few hours two days ago!!! First time since May! :)
As a SoCal native, I can vouch for the unpredictability of late-Summer weather.
I've been out in SD and Central Coast with temps over 100 in May and September. And May/June are supposed to be 'gloom'!
Right now along the Colorado River it is an AMAZING
88 DEGREES.
aka PERFECT.
It is very cold her ein Chicago and I have showings tomorrow in down town .oh ! oh !... going to be very cold.
Hi Jim, we like it hot but that is just to hot. We are visiting Myrtle Beach as you may know and the temperature was 80 degrees today. Perfect pool weather.
Keep cool.... will talk soon.
Low 60's today in Seacoast NH...... I think our hot weather is gone for anothr 8 mos or so. Darn it. I do love the warm weather not the hot weather. Don't think I like it as hot as what you get where you.
Patricia
47 in Valpo this morning. I used to think TX was prettty hot in September but it doesn't compare to those record highs in San Diego!
Jim - No fall weather here in Tampa - still running the A/C - But very soon we will be having great weather.
Hey, Susan - I think we can blame in on global warming. Either that, or George Bush or Barack Obama, depending on one's political persuasion.
Hey, Jared and Amanda - 51? In October? LOL
Hey, Sharon - I don't have a raincoat, but I have an umbrella. Somewhere. I lose it during the eleven months of sunshine and have to find it each year.
Hey, Shoshana - We've used our air conditioning maybe five times this summer. Unusual because we usually use it only once or twice.
Hey, Candice - 88 degrees is still a little too hot for me. I'm kind of accustomed to something between 60 and 80.
Hey, Suma - Nothing that some mittens, ear muffs, and coat won't take care of. As well as a heater in the car.
Hey, Al and Peggy - 80 I can tolerate, but that's about my max. Anything higher and I'm needing the air conditioner.
Hey, Patricia - Fortunately, we don't get the extremely hot days very often, but when they come, they arrive in force, usually more than one day at a time.
Hey, Irene - Our 113 is probably equivalent to about 90 in Texas because of the difference in humidity.
Hey, Sharon - I spent nine days in Tampa in October 1994. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I could set my watch to the thunderstorms that came through every afternoon around 2:00.
