Strange Mushrooms Growing In Big South Fork National Park After The Recent RainsYou may remember that the middle part of the country had about 10 straight days of rain last week...all that flooding in Atlanta. Once the sun finally reappeared, I was out riding in Big South Fork National Park, TennesseeĀ and I saw these bright orange mushrooms growing at the base of a tree. The ground was certainly sodden and I'm sure conditions were perfect for a proliferation of strange flora!

Leslie, That is a beautiful picture.  Orange mushrooms.  Who knew?  And the purple and green frame them nicely.  Thanks for sharing.

Wow - I don't think I've ever seen orange mushrooms.  How cool is that!  Remember though...don't eat them!

Hi, Susan. That is a curious juxtaposition of colors, the summer green and the fall purple...those orange mushrooms were so bright and so startling.

Hi, Harry. I love Speechless Sunday pix and have seen some really interesting photos!

Hi, Bob...Thanks for the warning...Alice ate the mushrooms and look what happened to her! LOL.

Leslie, nature sure comes up with some great color arrangements. Fall is a very colorful time of the year. Nice photo!

I love pictures of mushrooms.  There is something very fairytale about them.  Here is one of my favorite mushroom pictures:

I live minutes from the Cumberland Trailhead into Big South Fork National Park, in Spruce Creek Acres, an equestrian community that abuts the park itself. Horses are a major part of daily life here and this is a very active, supportive horse-oriented community. It is a gift to work as a realtor here, listing horse properties and selling horse properties to horse people! We joke that I've probably done more real estate on horseback than off! If you want to "live where you love to ride," let me help you find YOUR Big South Fork horse property .
