I'm fortunate because many of our greatest National Parks are not too far away from us here in San Diego. Before meeting my marketing guru almost sixteen years ago, I had not been to any of the nation's National Parks, even though I was born and raised in Southern California. Since then, I can't count all the National Parks, National Forests, and National Monuments that I've been to, but I have been to thirteen National Parks. In no particular order, other than the first three, and even those could change depending on which one was visited most recently: My Top 10 list of National Parks I'd like to visit tomorrow: With the economy still being questionable, you don't have to go far from your Mission Valley condo to have a great time! ********** If you're looking for a great condominium in Mission Valley, I'm available 24/7, so feel free to contact me by phone or email.

Mission Valley Condos Information
I would love to see some of these...Have been to Kings Canyon, Sequoiah, and Badlands....but lots on my to do list....
I will be in Vegas next week, and have seen most of the shows, and thought Maybe we'd rent a car and drive to Zion, but it is a little too far for a day trip...
Thanks for this list.
I have been to most of these... I just saw the Burns program on the National Parks... it was great.
since you are in San Diego, do you know of any AR gatherings that will be held during the NAR conference?
My husband and I bought an RV and travelled the country for a year. We purchased a national parks pass and boy did we get our money's worth. We have been to just about everyone of these and then some.
Jim, was your blog inspired by the new Ken Burns series on our National Parks? It's been airing in the Philly area on our local PBS station all week and is excellent!
I am envious, that's for sure. I have a friend who is a park ranger at Acadia National Park in ME. I threatened to go up there and make sure my car broke down in front of the house they give him to stay in. An old Victorian right on the water....
I should have done it.
Let me add one to your list, Jim: White Sands National Monument, not a park, but a fascinating place to visit for a day.
You'll need more than a day for the Hawaii volcano park, though. It is the most amazing landscape. For example....
Cheers,
Robin
Jim - I love going to the National Parks and I have a yearly pass to get into them!
Hey, Pat - I had that same thought one time when I was in Vegas for nine days, but decided the same thing.
Hey, Joan - The Burns film and the book are both excellent. It took him six years to complete the film.
Hey, Pat (again) - Russel and I are going to try to host at least one AR gathering. Keep an eye on the NAR 2009 San Diego Convention group: http://activerain.com/groups/NAR2009ConventionSanDiego
Hey, Courtney - My favorite is over there on the Olympic peninsula.
Hey, Tammie - I love to travel, but I think I need a nice hotel room each night - LOL.
Hey, Janice - Yes. We're pushing the film and the book at Borders. I can't get enough of our National Parks. However, since they are "nationalized" and run by the government, I guess the Republicans would either call them socialism or an abject government failure.
Hey, Andrea - Russel wanted to work in the national forest or national parks. That was his purpose in getting a forestry degree from Texas A&M. Title 9 changed everything for him.
Hey, Robin - I had thought about adding national monuments, national forests, and national historic sites, but I'll save them for another blog post.
Hey, Robert - An annual pass wouldn't be too practical for us here in San Diego, so we resort to the Zoo.
Hey Jim, I've been to most of the parks on both your lists. I have a National Parks Passport Book and enjoy getting the cancellations at each National Park. It has made my last vacations very enjoyable.
