Brentwood VillageBrentwood (90049), lies on the east side of Santa Monica at the foot of the the Santa Monica Mountains.  It is one of the most upscale areas of Los Angeles with a mix of high-end mansions to the north and single-family homes, condos and apartment buildings to the south.  As with Santa Monica, the further south you go, the less expensive the housing. The city got its name from Brentwood, Essex in the U.K. and has some English-named streets, like Barrington, Gorham and Bristol.

San Vicente Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard are the main thoroughfares through the city, San Vicente being the area's main walk street with high-end boutiques, and restaurants. It is also a popular destination for joggers along the grassy center median planted with coral trees. North of Sunset the area is defined by the hills and canyons of the Santa Monica Mountains, while south is flat.Brentwood Village

Brentwood's most famous resident is Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. And The Getty Center is located in Brentwood Hills.

The Brentwood Country Club is one of the most exclusive private golf clubs in L.A.

It's been such a long time since I've visited this exclusive area and I regret I never got to the Getty. Next trip and I will take you to lunch.

Hey Janice, you come here I buy, I go to PA, you buy.  I was in Philly last year, loved it.  How far are you from there - excuse my ignorance?
