Inspired today by Leslie Helm's Speechless Sunday post entitled Like Mushrooms After The Rain, I decided to post my own small collection of mushroom photos.

There is something so magical about mushrooms, something very fairytale about them.

My husband has fond memories of walking through the woods with his grandfather looking for mushrooms.  His grandfather pointed with his cane to the ones that were safe to eat, and Rick would pick them.  I don't know that I would trust to do this today, but it makes for a great memory!

Steve:  "Enchanted" is the word I was looking for!  With all the walks you take and the beautiful area you walk in...I'm sure you could find some awesome mushroom pictures to share!  I'll be waiting for them.

Sharon, these photos are absolutely awesome!  What camera do you use?  We rarely have mushrooms during this time of year, here in dry California but amongst the redwoods in the spring, I'd bet that I could find many.  AND your costume...what a hoot, but where are your wings?

Mushrooms are magical.. and many of them are very good for you too!  Yummy.  However, I am with you, I have no idea which ones are the safe ones.

Very beautiful photos!  Don't know how I feel about the leprechaun in the tie, however.

Brenda:  Very cool comment, thank you!

Ginger:  Why thank you!  My camera is a Canon EOS.  I've always been a Canon fan!  I had so much fun in that costume!  If you look really close you will see a piece of one of my wings.  Of course, I had wings!

Pat:  Glad you enjoyed it!  The costume was a challenge to make and I love a challenge!  It was so fun to wear too!

Sharon...OK I do see a wing peeking out and you made it!! WOW! It's beyond belief...so very creative!.  Only someone as tall and slender as you could get by with that.  I would look more like a cherub than a fairy.  (-:

I keep telling myself that I need to invest in a DSLR and I too am drawn to Canon since we had several of there SLR's back in the day and I've loved them.  It's a shame that we can't use our many lenses from back then now, maybe then I could afford the body only.   Thanks.

My, My...what have we here?! Looks like this worked out very well indeed, with a goodly number of comments! Clever title, too. Your photos are wonderful! I didn't have a camera with me and had to use my Blackberry.

Sharon - I used to walk through the woods and collect mushrooms with my siblings. We used to collect them in shoe-boxes and we always loved the red ones. You made that costume - I love it! Thanks for posting this, it gave me a great big smile. :D

Erika:  Thank you!

Joan:  I guess we are better off sticking to the ones in the market!

Tom:  I know what you mean about the Leprechaun.  That's my uncle - my husband put him there under the mushroom.  He really wouldn't fit in with the other leprechauns.

Ginger:  I have always enjoyed making costumes.  If a cherub is what you would look like, then put yourself on a cloud and go with it!  You would be so cute!

I don't know much about the camera really.  I certainly don't use it to its ability.  I know the basics.  My husband says I know how to use the "photography for dummies" button, and he is so right.

Leslie:  Pretty good huh!  You inspired me and it did work out very well!  Thanks!

Judy:  You could have gotten pretty sick had you eaten any of your collection. Good thing you were only admiring their color!  Glad I put a smile on your face today!

Kathy:  Thank you!  I have always enjoyed creating Halloween costumes.  I'm not the one having the parties, but I've been to many.  I have also attended a lot of murder mystery weekends which included a costume contest on the final night.  I'll be posting more Halloween costume photos soon.

Mike:  Glad you enjoyed it, it's actaully my uncle, Jim.

Sharon you are certainly one of the most creative people I know.  Love the pictures.  It is funny because Kentucky has been riddled with mushrooms that have popped up in the past few days. They do seem almost magical.

Oh my dear you are so creative with photoshop! Either that, or you're pretty quick with that camera to catch that little wee man under the mushroom tops. Really, these are gorgeous photos. Love your costume - is there anything you can't do?

Sheila:  Thank you!  Coming from the most creative person I know...that's something!  It's funny...we have tons of mushrooms right now, but all these pictures are from the past.  I haven't taken any recently.

Lee & Carol:  My husband gets the credit for placing Uncle Jim under the mushroom!  I do enjoy playing with Photoshop though, and have done some pretty funny things with people's photos!  Believe me, there is plenty I cannot do!

Sharon these are just fantastic photo captures of shrooms!!! I haven't see that variety growing around here, they are really cool.

I just got a new camera but could not jump up to the SLR. I guess I need to now purchase photo-shop also, looks like one could have great fun with that software.

Cynthia:  Thanks!  I have no idea what variety any of them are.  I just liked the colors and the way they looked!  As for Photoshop, I use a very old version of Adobe.   I prefer it, because I know how to use it.  I'm not very patient when it comes to learning new programs!
