Moving to Grants Pass, OR and Josephine County, OR

A great place to research the history of Grants Pass and Josephine County is the Josephine County Historical Society.

It is staffed by local citizens who volunteer because of a love for the area and can always use help.

They have a wealth of knowledge about the area and are truly public spirited, dedicated individuals who watch over an invaluable public trust.

Anyone who moves to Grants Pass, OR and Josephine County, OR does so because they want to!  No one moves to such a beautiful country because they have no other choice.

We're proud of our history and want newcomers to be also.

This is a photo of the Schmidt house which now belongs to the Josephine County Historical Society.

They also have a research library located at 512 SW 5th Street, Grants Pass, OR that is open Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 to 4:00.  Their Bookshop is located within the research library, and there you can purchase many of the books the historical society has published as well as historical photos, newsletters, etc.
