Speechless Sunday, an October moon. It does seem to me that October gives us some great moon shots. I raced outside but missed the best part as the moon was rising over the ridge here in New Milford, CT. I seem to be getting a bit better with these moon shots, they are tricky. I need to be waiting at just the right time for the moon rise, perhaps tomorrow night I will time it better! (I found my tripod which does make a difference)

Makes me think of "Howlaween" which is right around the corner!  :-)

Looks like your timing was just about perfect, catching that moon before it went behind the clouds.

Andrea - gorgeous pic!!  Do you have to do anything special to get a "moon shot"?  When I try to take pics in the dark (fireworks, "moon shots", etc) they come out totally dark, just about dark, or not at all.  I'm guessing just using a flash is not enough?  How do you get such beautiful night photos?

Cynthia, a tripod makes all the difference in the world!

Mike, I was outside trying to catch it, LOL. Thanks. Is good for howlin' for sure!

Caren, you are very welcome, and thank you!

Coleen, you shouldn't use a flash, and you need a good camera!

Craig, why thank you. Although it is not one of my favorite holidays, LOL, this year will be fun with the grandson if he will wear a costume.

Hi there Al & Peggy, yeah, wouldn't that be perfect? Thanks!

Yvette & Dennis, thank you! I love trying to take those moon shots.

Nice shot, Andrea.  Those moon shots can be tricky can't they?  I missed a good shot the other night because I didn't have my big lens with me.  Oh, well, next time, right?

Oh! Wonderful spooky moon, Andrea! I love it! It's a beautiful photo! And yes, night shots have a better chance of turning out like you want them to with a tripod!

Russel, LOL, well we must have been looking at the same moon! I love yours.

Jennifer, thank you! I find myself getting very distracted lately too, LOL.

VB, :D

Jesse, I am really wanting another lens, but this will do for now! Next time you better! Thank you.

John, I think it was a dress rehearsal! Thank you.

Debi, thank you! Without a tripod it is pretty much a waste of time, LOL.

Sally, it really would be great for a Halloween moon for sure, thanks!

Hi Janna, LOL, glad we don't have many zombies in my neck of the woods, but we are loaded with cats! Thank you.

Great shot! Thanks for sharing. I shot the moon the other night and haven't pulled it out of the camera yet. I'm not sure how it turned out. I guess we may see later.
