• Search the Internet for a company that specializes in manufactured homes.
• Type in keywords when searching like manufactured home loan refinance, bad credit manufactured home loans or the state first. For example California manufactured home loans.
• Do not go down to the local mortgage company because they most likely do not specialize in them and can hurt you more than helping you.
• When you find a website that looks legit make sure there is a phone number you can call and call it. Make sure they are actually a mortgage company and not a lead company that just sells your information.
• Be 110% honest and leave everything on the table. It's best to lay out any issues on that first call then to hope they don't catch them later.
• If it sounds to good to be true then it most likely is. Remember that this business is full of new loan officers that still use the bait and switch tactic to secure clients. I don't care if it's a reputable company or big bank. Everyday I here stories about this form frustrated clients and there is usually very little recourse. I have seen people strung out for 2-3 months by these people. Don't let that happen to you!
