The SIGNS in Feng Shui in New York  --  From a New York Feng Shui Consultant

When I began my Feng Shui Course in New York in 1996, one of the very first things we learned about was to look for "signs" on our way to a client's home.  While on my way to Feng Shui Consultations either here on Long Island or in New York City or Queens, I have since come across some unusual SIGNS.

Interpreting these signs in Feng Shui can be another thing.  For example, there was the time I passed a Clown riding a bicycle on a Long Island NY road.  I had no idea until I was speaking with my clients during the consultation and the husband told me his job was a comedian.  He was concerned he may not make it in his chosen career and I related what I had passed-which I took as a VERY good sign that he would.  (Today he is quite well known!)

It doesn't surprise me that for some reason, most of my clients have frogs.  In Feng Shui, we sometimes recommend a Frog as a sign of Abundance (Think Money Frogs :)  They don't always have Feng Shui Frogs but I'll see one somewhere in their home.  On a Feng Shui Consultation in a New York City Apartment I came across Kermit; in a home where there were no children-yet.

I mentioned my thoughts of Good Fortune associated with a Frog in Feng Shui and my client went and got another one to show me.  This one he has just won in a game.

During the Feng Shui Consultation in this small but lovely NYC Apartment, I found a number of issues to correct.  Weights were being stored under the bed, clutter had taken over one of the rooms and the Dining Room "felt" lifeless.  No one ever ate in there my client told me after I'd asked her about it.

On my way home I stopped in a store I hadn't been to before on Long Island.  Known for the unusual things it carries, I was looking for something specific.  And found FROGS everywhere!  To me it's a clear sign my Feng Shui Clients will be successful and I called to tell them about the "signs."

New York Feng Shui "Luck" by Laura Cerrano

Somehow, I was not at all surprised to receive a call just a short time later.  The husband who had concerns of being let go was actually called into the office-and instead of being let go, he had received an unexpected raise.  The wife had applied for a higher position in her company; a position, she said, she "didn't have a hope of getting."  She had applied, she said, for the experience.

Yes, she got it.  Along with a Company car, full health benefits and a huge salary increase.  When she called, I could hear the excitement in her voice as she was telling me this and I was thrilled right along with her!  She also told me about other wonderful things that had come their way.  I wasn't surprised.  There ARE signs everywhere.  Some are small and we might miss them if we're not paying attention.

Silly as they may sound, remember to LOOK for the SIGNS in life!

Carol, what darling frogs you found! And yes, there are signs all around us in life, but we have to be sensitive to see them - with eyes open, not shut.

Hi Carole!

I enjoyed your very interesting blog,

Different interpretation have I concerning a frog.

I do associate good fortune when I see one in our grass

For it means I am about to catch a largemouth bass!!!

Carole, that's funny about the frogs.  I love frogs and have photos of frogs (every time I go to a park, I'll look for a frog to 'shoot') ... but I don't have any physical frogs around the house.

I have weights under my bed. :/

I have weights in my office area.

I guess this is not good?

As far as my dining room .... we have dinner there every single day.

I think I have to go out and buy some frogs and some 'Chinese' cats.
It probably won't hurt.

Frank & Sharon, I believe some people miss them, especially when they are small.  I'm always open to them.

Bruce, You DO have a different interpretation.  But it's still favorable.  I love Frogs myself :)

Gary, They are such signs of abundance to me.  And it's so interesting that ALL my clients have at least one in their home.

Jane Anne, If you don't have one, get a little frog....anywhere.  They are lucky little things to have around :)  is it ribbitt or rivitt ? :)

Debbie, It sounds ridiculous, I know. It works...why it does, I don't know!  If your prince arrives, give me a shout!

Sylvie, I'm sorry to yell but GET THE WEIGHTS OUT FROM UNDER YOUR BED!   They are "holding you down" and more than likely making you tired.  Store them somewhere else please.

Gabriela, Go pick one up the next time you see one you like.  I loved all of these that I stumbled upon :)

We have a resident toad in the back yard. Is that as good as a frog? If not, I will see if I can find one to bring inside.

Fun post, Carole!

Cheers,

Robin

I had no idea that frogs were a positive Feng Shui sign.

But, as I always do after reading your posts, I've learned something new today!

Thank you Carole!

Carole: informative to say the least. It is just a matter of being open to signs, isn't it?

That post brought back great memories of my wise old grandmother and her frogs. She loved nature, but I think dogs, cats, and frogs were her favorite. She even had real frogs that she would "rescue" whenever she found them and bring them home. Amazingly, they stayed quite a while but eventually escaped from the back yard. She nurtured my love of, and respect for, Mother and Father Nature.

Hi Carole, This is so funny, I've been a frog nut all my life...real or as an inanimate object! I still like to catch & release them. They are tucked in many places of my home!

Judi, They are "auspicious" in Feng Shui and I've always found them lucky. I still notice that almost ALL my clients of all ages have them :)

Fred, I actually DO give them as gifts (but then, I would :)  Still, I've noticed that most people have some!

Robin, It might even be better!  Especially if he hangs around the back, left side of the yard (Wealth area) :)

Kevin & Monica, We always consider them lucky whether they are actual "money frogs" or not.  I love them and have a few myself.

Hannah, I don't know the symbolism of bears....especially Teddy Bears.  I will try to find out.

Craig, I don't know if all Feng Shui Consultants consider them lucky but I have seen my clients prosper...when I see these signs, I had to give them a call :)

Janice, I think it is.  People rush right by them and they really are a gift..........

Kate, Get him out....and put him in the back left hand corner of your home.  Think WEALTH!

Russel, I love the stories about your wise old grandmother.  I had one myself who sounds like she could have been a twin.  She taught me SO much!

Joan, Any frog will do, just get one you LOVE.  I ask my clients to fill their surroundings not just with things but things they truly love.

Liz, I always marvel that they're in almost ALL the homes we do!

Bill, Thank you, it has I'm thrilled to say.  Last year at this time was not very good but this year is much better.

Grace, Jeff has the BEST taste!  You, of course....and New York.  And now the frogs!

Cynthia, I used to catch them before the creek dried up and they left.  Funny, I don't believe I could do it now.  I have the "fake" ones now :)
