A Salute to My Dear Friend Madeleine Owens

Isn't she beautiful? I have to think of my dear friend Madeleine Owens this month. She died last year around this time and I miss her very much. She was just one of the classiest ladies I've ever known. She was SO intelligent . She was an English teacher and spent many a night writing a book about all the movie stars she knew first hand. She worked for many years as a secretary at one of the big studios in Hollywood. She knew Red Skelton and Clark Gable and many others!

Her favorite drink was a martini. So here's a martini glass clink in salute to my dear friend Madeleine!

What a great salute to someone who sounds like a wonderful person. You know she's up there smiling right now. Its wonderful thing to have someone so amazing in your life, they definitely leave a void when they are gone. Keep smiling and remembering the good times.

Jill, I'm sorry for your loss, she sounds like a very special person. My father would have loved her, he knew Clark Gable as well :)

Carole and Janice...Nice to hear from y'all!! Madeleine is great memories for me. I was gifted to be with her in hospice. She was gracious to all. We brought her kitty cat up in a cage for her to visit and say goodbye. The cat knew something was up and didn't move at all on her bed!

I'm not sad. I enjoy Madeleine's memories.

Carole, how did your father know Clark Gable?
