When I first started using Twitter I really liked it, once I understood it. But something has changed. Most of the tweets that I see are just advertisements. It used to be real people talking about real things and now its a bunch of Internet marketers talking about how to get 1000 followers in a day, or the best home based biz ever, and so on. I don't need more ads. I'll see how it goes, hopefully twitter users will swing back to the more personal side. I guess in the end twitter is still indexed by the search engines, so it will help build an online presence.

Hey Brodie - you just have a lot spambots that got to you! It is still good!
OK I'm going against the grain here but Twitter seems like a fad with regard to real estate. In Maryland it just has not become a substantive force in real estate.
Twitter, like most other networking innovations, is subject to advertising. If you will recall, when FAX became the rage, it wasn't long before the advertisers had figured out how to mass market their pitches to people who had not invited them to do so. Then there were legal restrictions imposed which severely cut-down on these mass marketing endeavors. The same will happen for Twitter when enough people scream to their legislators about Twitter-abuse. You are right that there are more ads. Everyone from the largest corporations to real estate agents know it's power and will take advantage of it. Why not?
