Facebook seems to be adding really cool features and they aren't stopping.  A few weeks ago they started the Twitter like tool where you can @ your friends and tag them in a post.

Today, while searching for information on Whole Foods Market in The Woodlands (we don't have one but I started a group. Cheap Plug) I noticed that they changed their search tool.

This is completely changing the landscape of how people search for stuff and it's AWESOME!

I was trying to search for a group and found this.   Hopefully I'm not the last person on Facebook to know about it.  LOL.

It was Facebook friend Ken Brand commenting on an article by Nancy Sarnoff saying that we needed a Whole Foods up here on this side of town.

Now, what if we wanted to know what friends thought about the Houston Museum of Natural Science?

Hmm. I wonder if people will use that to search for who their friends suggest to buy or sell a home?  Or what their friends say about certain communities?  Restaurants...

What are your thoughts?

Stephanie, I am still learning Facebook.  My problem is getting bumped from that site over and over again and it discourages me from spending more time on there.

I spend a little time on facebook every day, unlike my wife who is addicted to it.

Great post. I really like facebook and social networing. If you have an iphone another cool tool I like is there is a facebook app which makes taking photos and then uploading them to facebook really easy. Which makes a post such as just listed this house on facebook really easy.

Steph...

I have such difficulty with FB. I can't figure out how to use it without it disconnecting my Internet. The same thing happens to me with Picnik. These two sites install so many tracking cookies that they either slow down my Internet or disconnect it. I've literally spent hours trying to figure out why this happens. If you have any ideas about that please share them with me. By the way I miss seeing you around AR. I could use more of your generational fixes :)

I wonder if this will work with things like Tweetdeck. (They already update you facebook status, but is this a separate thing or is this replacing the old one? Either way, I can certainly see how this will be great for finding people with the same interests.

Stephanie, I think this is a great idea.  As is the Whole Foods in The Woodlands.  Every time I go to a Whole Foods, I beg for one for Kingwood.  The last time an employee told me that The Woodlands and Kingwood come up in discussions a lot.  Let's keep hoping!

This is one of the best competitors to Google that I have seen.  You go from searching for information to search through conversations.  Each has its own place, but so great to have an option to do either.

(ps - We just got the most fabulous Whole Foods in Chicago's Lincoln Park.  It is like the one is Austin, TX.  It is seriously my favorite place to shop and eat in Chicago.)

Stephanie,

Good morning and some very good information for those not yet there. You may also want to consider FaceBook's Market Place- another venue to load and post Listings.

One of my biggest gripes is those [Realtors] Not utilizing FB's Photos ! I have a photo album for Each of my Listings [also see Twitpic- load right from your cell].

You can check me out at http://FaceBook.com/Steven.Zimmerman

...and here's something really nice... where one can place ALL their Work and Social sites For Free http://retaggr.com/page/StevenZimmerman

Have a great week... I'm off to my Community's Gulf Front Beach for some tanning, before my 2pm appointment :)

Hey Guys,

I tried to do a video to show you how to make friend lists but my editing software is not cooperating.  If you click the friends tab at the top of your fb page and click new list - It's all there.

Also, I'm trying to find Jeff Turner's video on the tagging feature.  I will put it in the post for you all...brb.

Most of the time I think FaceBook is a waste of time but I like the gossipy side of it.  I don't like the people who ony write about their businesses.

I found the new way to search for Realtors in my area much easier than before.  Now I just typed "Realtor jacksonville fl" and 350 or so came up.  It's a great way to share your listings with them.  Before, the search never really worked that well.

Also- sometimes you can find out what people are talking about the same way you search in Twitter.  Pretty soon Facebook will be just like Twitter in how it operates, and I don't mind that!

Nice post!
