My wife and I have been reading about ways to save energy. Yes, we are like many other Americans trying to cut back where we can in the budget. Here are the Top 5 Tips to Save Energy

  1. Install Programmable Thermostat
  2. Change A/C filter on a monthly basis
  3. Turn off ceiling fans when leaving the home
  4. Do not prerinse your dishes
  5. Clint out the lint in the dryer

I just wanted to share with the AR community on what we are trying to do to save on energy and dollars back into our pockets. What other tips are out there? Please share your input with AR Community.

Harry, here are a couple more tips:

  1. Replace incandescent lights with CFL's or LED's.
  2. Install low flow toilets - 1.6 gals.
  3. Install low flow shower heads.
  4. Install low flow faucets.
  5. Make your next hot water heater a tankless water heater.

- Shade your A/C unit either by planting a tree or creating a structure to block the sun.
