One of the questions that was proposed to the panel:

What is your #1 tip for people getting started with blogging?

Jim Reppond - Use spell check. Read, read and re-read. Your presentation reflects on your professionalism.

Rhonda Porter - Give it 6-12 months. It takes time to get comfortable with the medium and get yourself out there.

Coutney Cooper - be cautious about what you post as it reflects on your professionalism.

Jo Soss - Don't be afraid to pick up the phone or to otherwise contact some of the people whose blogs you read.

Check out some blogs, then jump in there and get your blog started, or put out a new post.
