Social Media Best Practices For Real Estate Agents.

To make the biggest impact on your real estate business- you need to be creating an online presence. We will begin to discuss and do tutorials on each of these listed below over the next few months.

social web 2.0 marketing
The top 5 media that will get you the most exposure and the best online presence are:

  • Blogs- Active Rain, Activeblogs, Wordpress blogs, guest blogger

  • Podcasts

  • Video

  • Social Bookmarking

  • Social Networking

and they should be in that order also. But we get sidetracked don't we!  I know I spend more time on social networking after blogging. Podcasting has been on my list since 2007 and I still have not produced my first podcast. At least now I have my outline done and I have contacted people I will be interviewing like our insurance agent.

But now we have macs and I can not wait to share with you what we are producing with our macs. I have no excuse to delay podcasting with one touch podcasting on the mac. The Imovie is the easiest movie editor ever! I used to throw my hands up and just gave into posting raw video and to heck with editing because no matter what software I tried I got super frustrated.

The top sites that you should be networking and working within the top 5 items above are:

  • Flickr
  • Friendfeed
  • Facebook
  • Youtube
  • and Twitter.

We will expand over time into each of these areas. Consider subscribing to our blog to keep up with the tutorials for Active Rain and online marketing. If you have specific questions please put them in your comments below and I will write a post about it so that way we can help all the members who most likely have the same question.

There is a step by step approach to all of this. With 2010 being just around the corner- it is time to sit down and prepare you plans for how much income you are going to make next year, what your niches are and where you are going to get this income from.

For instance, have a plan for your social bookmarking. Not all social bookmarking sites are created equal and many are a huge waste of time for you to be involved in but there are sites that will help you in creating business that begins online.

The next session of SEO TO THE TOP WEBINAR will be starting on Wednesday January 13, 2010! So you can sign up soon as the class does fill up fast and there is limited seating. Disclosure: There is a fee for this class.

Katerina,

I'm all eyes and ears for the upcoming tutorials. I'm sure there'll be some nice tips for us, too. Where would you place LinkedIn on the list of networking sites?

Good info, Katerina.  I actually starting doing podcasts and even got one on itunes but sort of dropped the ball.  I need to work on that!

Btw, did you get my second message earlier?  I guess I can't type my own email address.  jesse@the-spouses.com (plural).

I've had podcasting on my agenda since 07, can't wait for you to show me how.

I did do a craigslist ad for help and met with a guy, his advice to me was get enough shows ready to go as you need fresh content to build a listening group.

Great post.  I would say the one that I have the least amount of understand of is the social bookmarking.  Can you please shed some light on that for me?
