The other day we had finished an inspection

on a property were going to list and we were

heading back, when Bob said, "I could use a coffee".

We had just passed a coffee place, but I reluctantly turned around.

It was my turn to pay, and as I was doing so, I gave the owner my card.

She said, "Wow, I need to talk to you! Can you come out and look at my place?"

We did the next day, listed the property

and made a list of things that needed to be done.

Very cooperative people and nice to work with.

You never know where your next bit of business

is coming from. Pass out those cards-10 a day minimum.

Its funny that so many who have jumped on the social media bandwagon do not realize that the same sort of connections can be made everyday everywhere you go.  Social marketing is the easiest, funnest, cheapest thing any businessman can do.  Good Job Terry!

Robert,

I don't get it either. Twitter, Facebook, Twatter, whatever. Good old fashioned face-to-face works for me. Thanks for that; I thought I was losing it for not being "current".

You sure don't want to ignore traditional networking.

Face to face contacts always work best for me however I am yet trying to get into the social networking - Thanks for sharing!

For sure.  If they'd allow me to where my Realtor pin, I'd probably work the front gates at Disneyland for free.

Terry,

Good advice.

By the way, I have a coffee shop for sale in Waterloo, Ontario.

Also, very nice people.

Terry - What a great story and reminder to always have those cards with you!

Thanks for sharing this, Terry.  Our next potential client is whoever is in front of us; whether it be a face-to-face encounter such as Terry shared or social media "touch" through Facebook.

Charles,

It works better for me.

Carl,

You are on the same page as me.

Sharon,

Everyone is a potential client.

Rhonda,

And pass them out.

Brian,

Much success in selling that listing.

Gregg,

Wouldn't that be a source of leads.

Norma,

I don't even bother with it.

Terry,

You are so right! Great advice. 10 cards a day really isn't that hard. With social networking being what it is today, I think we often ignore good ol' fashion face to face networking. Thanks for the reminder.

Your friend in the Cosmic Cow Pie.

From time to time I will feature local Mission businesses on my blog entries to give prospective buyers a little more insight into the area. As well as working with buyers and sellers in the Canadian market, I have networked with several realtors in Arizona, Nevada and California and together we market foreclosed on properties in the south 48.
