Why Do I Blog On ActiveRain? It's Not For The Points But.....

This post will bring me over 225,000 points on ActiveRain but the points are not the value of the ActiveRain experience. The value of the experience I have had on this network goes far beyond anything I imagined when I started.

ActiveRain has reignited a passion for writing in me and for that alone it has been of incredible personal value. I love to see that my my words are being read and responded to by others too. To have a post receive 1400 clicks (you can check how many times your post is Viewed and Clicked under Statistics on your home page) and have over 130 comments, like last Fridays post, is unbelievably awesome.

I have found a network of friends from across this country who can be counted on for enthusiasm when I succeed, support when I need it, not to mention referrals when they have someone coming my way or I have someone going their way. Some of these ActiveRain contacts have become some of my closest friends. I had a call from one yesterday who plans to meet me this weekend at an art show in New Paltz as a matter of fact (yeah for Sista C!)

I learn more about real estate related topics here than any other source because of bloggers who focus on many different aspects of the Real Estate World. I am more aware of home inspection details, looking for ways to stage listings and helping my buyer clients see better options for furniture placement as I show them listings, and the information and analysis on current real estate events and pending legislation is awesome.

I have Public recognition and an awesome Internet presence from my Public posts on Localism and my Outside Blog. There are people I may never meet who look forward to planning their weekends based on my To Do Orange County NY posts. I have a platform to share my opinions and my personal take on real estate where the public can find me. They like what they read and they call me too!

I have the satisfaction of helping others to get started blogging or to improve their blogging here in the Rain. I can not tell you how much pleasure I get from seeing a comment that says:

I am so excited. I keep meaning to find out how to do these "projects" but was always intimidated because I figured it would be hard. You make it so easy and I am already familiar with Picnik so it should be a breeze.

Paddy~ I have to agree with you! I love ActiveRain and it is one of the best things I have become involved in as far as Real Estate goes!
