Wow - Home Staging Sold this Home in 2 Weeks After 3 Years on Market

Townhouses and condos are hard to sell in tough markets. Unlike single family homes, townhouses and condos swing in price much more rapidly and in today's real estate market there is a glut of unsold inventory. unfortunatley for buyers, much of this inventory is vacant.

Cindy Montgomery emailed me some after photos of this townhouse in Hennepin County, MN that sold in two weeks after sitting on the market for a staggering 3 years:

That's a tough room to stage. Really tall ceilings, not much color to work with and an urban environment than has some noise. Add an empty space and its a recipe for a poorly showing townhouse. The staging with a live in home stager did the trick -the first person who viewed the home bought it.

Hi Thomas, That is awesome! Sold in 2 weeks, after 3 years on market...staging apparently does make a big difference. Will certainly keep this in mind. thanks for sharing

Hey, that's a great house, I'd live there! Staging works and here's the proof. I'm a big advocate for it and I wish more people would think it's important to selling.

Ginger: thanks! we're getting similar results all over the country. There are buyers; you just have to win the beauty contest to sell. A vacant house these days is a REALLY tough sell and if it does sell, it sells for far less than it would if staged. Look us up - we do lots of homes in Mecklinburg County.

That's great! I can't imagine a seller letting their home sit on the market for 3 yrs! I assume price was also a factor. It looks beautiful!

It looks beautiful staged and maybe the owners learned to explore all options before letting a house sit unsold for years? Who knows.

3 years on the market is a lot more common that you might think. In the more expensive homes, we are seeing lots of homes for that amount of time, even priced right. There are simply too many homes for sale for the number of buyers out there.

The staging looks great. That's a great Showhomes staging statistic - townhouse sold in 2 weeks after sitting idly on the market for 3 years!!! Cindy did a great job, and the floor standing mirrors are a great idea to bounce light around and bring the space back towards you.
