STATE OF HAWAII NEWS - Back to School Already!!!

Aloha Kakahiaka - (Good Morning) - from the Beautiful Big Island of Hawaii.  Summer is definitely here and it is BEAUTIFUL - clear, blue skies and the contrast between the greenery, the lava, the ocean and the sky are amazing.  The summer sunsets have been fantastic as well.  If you have not been to the Big Island, you need to put it on your to-do list :-)

Since each state and even city or county has a different school year, I thought it may be interesting to share with you how our state is set-up.  There is constant debate over the structure of our education system which is overseen by the state and since we are made up of different islands, not always the fairest or most effective way.  Local School Boards are constantly being considered, but what the future holds remains to be seen.  The Dept of Education did decide to set a mandatory Year-Round School Schedule for all public schools.  So summer is almost over for many of the students here, classes will resume for many starting between July 27th and August 1st.

So if you know anyone with children planning on moving out this way "before" the school year begins, please let them know they don't have much time.  :-)

Wow, I thought Florida schools started early. We go back to school August 7th. In know up north in Pennsylvania, most schools don't start until after Labor Day.

Aloha Kakahiaka to you. Sorry to have missed you at the CIPS class in Miami - are you planning to take the 1031 Exchange class in Jackson Hole?  Your school year starts before ours does - mid August seems early to me, since in New England it started right after Labor Day.
