Wind power is a renewable form of energy, produces no carbon emissions, and is not likely to run out anytime in the future. In an earlier blog I shared with you all the idea of creating your own home or residential energy by installing a wind turbineWind turbines are perfect for certain areas but may not be so ideal for a metropolitan area, plus they also require an initial investment and can come up against opposition.

Hi Adam - Wind power is awesome.  I'm proud that our new middle school installed a wind turbine last year.  Not only does it produce some of the school's electricity, it's a great teaching tool for the kids as well.

That's great to hear. If children grow up surrounded by alternative energy sources, it will become second nature.

Thanks for posting this.  I do not believe in the whole man made global warming craze but I am very concerned about the cleanliness of our envoronment.  Believe it or not I am in favor of bans on plastic shopping bags.

I am really looking forward to the day when solar and wind technology is more widely used and therfore more cost effective to install.  I can assure you my family will seriously look at one of these options once the initial investment comes down a bit.

It is unfortunate that many home owners associations do not allow wind turbines in their neighborhoods.

Adam, maybe you know, I saw an alternative to the big prop powered wind turbines one time.  It was an American living in Hong Kong that invented a system of "wheels" that turned with very little wind to produce electricity.  It was such a neat idea, and now I can't seem to find it anywhere.  If anyone knows, please inform me.
