Hahahahaaaaaaaaa. Rejected like a bad kidney while you foolishly wait for a phone call? (LOL). My e-mail is off the hook with people telling me to jack this blog. I just had to come over here (LOL). My fave line: I am a specislist but I may not even exist (ROTFL). How about the crack I will teach you to submit an offer before you die from natural causes (LMAO). Where the hell are the comments? Why am I getting e-mail but no one is commenting on your blog. WTF? We have to do something about that (LOL). Seriously... :-)
Lisa,
We must be from another planet! What! they hate veterans? No FHA financing? Your cousin can fix me up? I am going to have a problem with the dog pedigree... stupid home buying rookie.. Wrong font??? Game over?
Rejected like a bad kidney?
C U later loser?
My daughter lives in Fernely... does that count?
Your friend in the Cosmic Cow Pie.
Pam, I am on my second run with this because I am sure I missed some other great lines while howling with laughter (LOL) ;-)
Michael, I think we both did (LOL). That agent gets around (LOL). ;-)
Pamela, the sad thing is I am living this along with my peers. I am in Short Sale and REO Hell (LOL). Why can't I get an answer in seven days? Why hasn't a negotiator been assigned after four months? Why does one agent have 300 plus listings for HUD? Why are people calling me from West VA telling me as a Fannie Mae vendor I am in charge of houses there when I live and work in NY? Oh the things I can say about this but wont... (LOL)
Hi Lisa, This was so cleaver. You did a marvelous job scripting this. I went to the site and realized that this was a very time consuming little project. Very well done. Congratulations!
I sooooo second Loreena. There were a few agents that made my eyes cross in my head to the point where I had to bite my tongue and count to ten (LOL). My kids know "that look" but the people just didn't get it. Even when I got wordy and made myself perfectly clear. Wind up not selling the home because the buyers walked from becoming frustrated at sitting for months on end just waiting for an answer... Suddenly I get a call out of the blue. Price reduced. Does my buyer still want the house. Hell no. My buyer closed two months ago. Oh well...
I like the run about the 72-page addendum. It takes about 3 hours just to understand the instructions, and by then, they're are 152 offers on the table. Very funny.
Were they in my office watching me go thru short sale hell? How funny is this? I am so glad that someone made me laugh about this frustrating process... I experienced everything the "sellers agent said!!" I am sure someone has my kidney too!!!
That is one of the funniest I've seen. LMAO, keeping a sense of humor is so important these days and this one nailed it!!! Thanks for bringing such a great video.
Lisa: Funny and True … this is so classic … thanks for sharing … love the 72 page addendum, preferred lender … OMG … there is so much TRUTH to this … what a HOOT!
Just played this for Steve too. I love the "Your offer just ended up in my most awesome shredder" and "You must be pre-approved with my preferred lender, which might be my cousin Frank, but I'm not sayin'!"
That's a great video. There is so much truth to the joke it shouldn't be funny. Maybe a bank executive will see it and change the system? HA HA HA - I crack myself up!
I agree with David - Funny, but sad. I laughed and then thought how I would feel as a buyer impacted by this tragedy - These issues don't really come up in the Iowa City market. This comical illustration of the difficulties of actually getting to an accepted offer in other parts of the country was much more effective in getting the point across to me than several posts on the subject have been. It's a sad state of affairs.
I am forwarding this to an associate that just heard many of the same comments from a listing agent in a real life situation. The listing was so packed with erroneous information it was reported to MLS. The listing agent made a comment similar to the video, "I am too busy with all my listings..." you can watch the video again and know how the rest of the conversation went.
I hope this isn't an indication of what we have to look forward to in the coming year(s) while we work our way out from the mortgage debacle.
Very funny ...I have done a few just like this, in fact I am trying to close one in the next week where I feel like I am banging my head against a wall
OMG this is SO funny - in that "can't stop laughing or might cry because it is so close to truth" way! Thanks for sharing - & now I must go tell everyone in my office to come check it out!
I specialize in selling bank owned properties, and believe me it takes talent to be on the buyers side of it, I am sure it takes alot of talent on the other side too, a side I am working hard to get on, but once I am I do want to well you know, actually return calls and such...
I just closed on a bank owned property yesterday with a client. Now we find out that the utilities are not paid. He says he has sent forms several times and that everything possible was done on his end.....however......the utility co has no record what so ever of any conversations with him.
The keys, well they were left under a bucket in the back yard, however I was not told this so when I go @ 9pm to deliver the keys that were agreed to be in a lock box for us there IS NO lock box.....did I forget to mention this WAS a CASH buyer, we got an email from the agent with a counter, we accepted and wrote it up, the bank sat on it for 5 days and then told us that in the 5 days higher offers had come in so now we have to raise our offer to get it.....We do and then it still is almost a full month before we can close, not because of my client, because of the BANK. The client mean while is waiting and waiting to get working on the house......Again did I mention HE PAID CASH!!!!
Total craziness, but it was a good deal! I think I'll send him the link to this video.
Sadly Lisa, we all can relate to this! I know I was thinking of one particular REO listing agent in Reno who I sounds just like this robot. Actually, I have never talked with yet have submitted at least two offers to. I do have a closing with her soon and have yet to speak to her. I only email her closing assistant but I do not get to speak with her either!!
I know I have talked to his women before...but only once because when I called Back, she had beeen sent to another department. So I had to start over...did not pass go and did not collect $200.
OMG! I talk to this listing agent every day! She never really blatently comes out and SAYS she hates Veterans though! This made me laugh so hard! I am definately re-blogging!
I am SOOO GRATEFUL that I was in my private office as I laughed aloud at this. We receive many calls from buyers who want to purchase a foreclosure and have no idea that the (I hesitate to use the term), "process" is different. I may have to re-blog this!
Sad, but unfortunately true. Here in Franklin County, Ohio, it takes about 5 months to record a Sheriff's deed. Our MLS just introduced 2 new categories of bank owned properties - deed recorded and deed NOT recorded. This helps estimating when one can actually close, but most agents representing the sellers (banks) behave just like in this funny little video. First time buyers, beware!
That's just too funny! They say that the best comedy has a lot of truth to it. Very much the case here. Such a sad state of affairs unfortunately that the people who need to get out of their homes have to have so many hoops that need to be jumped through!
I just loved this! There are a handful of REO agents we will always remember. For... 1) Never returning a call personally 2) always having a voice mail that says do NOT leave a message 3) for always having staff or email to deal with the transaction 4) for never actually ever spoken with them during the entire transaction. I WILL remember all of them. These times will end and... someday the shoe of professional courtesy will be on the other foot.
LOL! Yeah it's really like that! No offense to the REO agents out there! I know some of you who take pride in what you do and have strict time lines to meet and also strict requirements from the banks you serve! Until we have a large REO account we will never exactly know what REO agents go through. With that said some of them could lighten up a bit! Lastly to all the REO agents out there.....enjoy the ride while it lasts!
This would have been funnier if I wasn't in the middle of one right now! You left out that the preapproval can only be completed on-line, and they will get back to you with 24-72 hours (while you are in a bidding war).
LMAO @ George. Oh my word... I have yet to be tortured with that bit of insanity. Hmm... I shall have to stay on the lookout for that bit of banking mischief (LOL).

Lisa, very funny, I can relate. Thanks for sharing this. I'll need to show some agents in my office.
